Quick info
About Yeung Xing
Cash is the only payment accepted at Yeung Xing, a Chinese takeaway and chippy on Eastern Ave in Speke, Liverpool, where every order is carried out rather than delivered. The kitchen works in a Cantonese style and pairs its dishes with chips, so salt and pepper chicken arrives with a portion alongside and the salt and pepper chicken wings are kept ready at the front. Chicken fried rice is a regular order, and siu mai sit on the menu too. The counter takes requests to leave ingredients such as prawns or vegetables out of a dish. Kids meals and high chairs make it a workable stop for families with young children. There is no booking, so customers simply walk in and order at the counter. It opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
The criticism is sharper and more specific. One reviewer says the siu mai tasted like dog food, and that salt and pepper chicken and chips arrived wet and soggy after a short drive home. Another describes an order mixed up repeatedly, with chilli added to food that shouldn't have it, and a third says an order with no veg was handed over containing veg. Two reviewers say prices keep changing or rising, and one asks for the web page to show opening times. One reviewer wishes it offered delivery, and another reports drunk customers shouting abuse at people.

“Came here as my local chippy was closed. Food was awful, siu mais tastes like dog food, had one bite and binned the rest. Very overpriced for the quality of food. Salt and pepper chicken and chips were wet and soggy after a 2 minute drive home and had to air fry the chips. Service was slow as well. Wouldn’t come here again.”

“I've tried cantonese style food in lots of parts of the world now, and nothing has ever compared to Yeung Xing. I love the food here, as do all my family, and I would say this is the best takeaway in all Liverpool, but not only that there is nothing anywhere else I that I enjoy as much as what is made here.”

“Simply the best chippy, staff are very friendly, food tastes great with excellent portions and value is still amazing considering inflation the past few years!”
