  “We've been before but not for a while but when we saw the menu it really stood out as something a little different. Food was very good, we shared some items from their Italian Tapas menu. We ordered the meatballs, the focaccia, arancini, dirty fries and the pork ribs. The food was freshly prepared and served piping hot and looked and tasted delicious We ate inside but had a choice of tables both inside and outside. The service was good and friendly and the team seemed knowledgeable about the menu and how much to order from the tapas menu. It's a shame that it was quite quiet which meant that the venue lacked a bit in atmosphere. The restaurant itself was clean and nicely furnished in quite a simple style. We will definitely return to try some more of their menu”

  “Just had the ham sunday roast, with extra cauliflower cheese and extra veg. Honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long long long time, better than most top restaurants I've been to. Everything tasted amazing and was cooked to perfection! Staff are also so lovely and the atmosphere is great in there! Please give this place a go, needs to be experienced! Also they allow dogs and do take-out as well. Thank you!”

  “I went to the weld blundell with my friend for breakfast this morning and although the food was lovely, the service we had from one of the members of staff was completely out of order! A different member of staff took our order and got it mixed up as I added extras onto my breakfast(which is fine),and someone who I gather is possibly the manager brought it over and when we explained to another waitress,he came back over and starting blaming myself for not hearing what he said when he placed the food down and continued to say “do you want to send it back or can you both deal with what you’ve got?” He then came over several times with an arragant attitude until we resolved what it was that was muddled up. He made us both feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome. The first picture was our first order and the second is the correct order.”

  “Magnificent place for top quality food. I keep promising myself I'll pop in more often when I feel I need spoiling, and that's exactly what they do in The Welly, they spoil you rotten. I know Chef Martin has a special little recipe for his beautiful Eggs Mediterranean because there's a delightful blend of the sweet and the spicy, which is unfair really, because I'd like to try some of his other creations, but my mouth blurts out "scrambled egg with chorizo please" before my brain is in gear. Such is the excellence of his specially whipped eggs with the drizzled honey and the spicy Spanish sausages. Top geezer, Chef Martin, in fact, all the staff make you feel like a valued friend rather than just another customer, as some other places are prone to do. Hence my lovely morning chit chat with the beautiful young Rebecca, who always greets me with the most amazing smile and has a pot of tea in front of me almost as I walk in through the door. I really DO love my special trips to The Welly, and I think the special vibes rub off on the customers too, because everyone smiles and has a chat with you on the way in. It's a really friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere, a lot cheaper than most other places to boot. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere and great prices, what's not to like about my favourite local eaterie. Definitely gets my FIVE STAR (PLUS) Award, I'm going back on Sunday to try out the Sunday Roast Special, that looks amazing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(+) #TopClass”

  “In my opinion the weld blundell doesn’t get enough credit, the food is absolutely amazing & although it’s tapas the portions are quite generous especially for the price. Obviously Italian food isn’t for everyone but who wants the same old microwaved pub grub? All the dishes are fresh and tasty, including the breakfasts & Sunday roasts. Not to mention the homemade cakes & cheesecakes wow. The staff are very friendly & always go above & beyond and make you feel very welcome even when it’s busy. They also have a bar snacks menu if you just want a light bite & honestly everything is delicious so give it a try & don’t let any negative reviews put you off. Suppose you can’t please everyone!”

What an amazing surprise, walking through the pub to the back and being greeted with a beautiful bright elegant restaurant. The Italian food was amazing and the dessert delicious. The girl who served us was professional, warm & attentive.”

  “Went fathets day. Excellent roast beef and crispy Yorkshire pudding lovely cooked veg and lashings of gravy. Very good value and outstanding service from Jack and all the team are very friendly and professional. Also great entertainment by carl who played guitar and sax with great easy listening vocals. Definitely reccomend the weld. Also had Build your own ice cream which was a joy. Thanyou all for a fab afternoon.”
