About Da Mount Gurkha
Da Mount Gurkha is a Nepalese restaurant at 71 Crosby Rd N in Liverpool, with a menu built around momos and chicken dhede khursani. Momos come as chicken, vegetable or fried chicken, and the dhede khursani is one of several curries on the list. Nepalese bread is served alongside naan and roti, so a curry can be matched with any of three breads. Beyond the curries, the menu includes paneer tikka and king prawn dishes for diners who want something different.

Customer Review Summary
Momos are what diners return to most, with the chicken, fried chicken and vegetable versions all named, and the dips served with the poppadoms also get praise for their variety. Close behind are the curries, including the lamb house curry and the chicken dhede khursani, along with a king prawn main and paneer tikka. The breads draw repeated mentions too, from a soft naan and a crisp garlic naan to a Nepalese bread one reviewer calls the most magnificent they have tasted, and a sweet coconut-filled gulio. Service is described as polite, friendly and helpful, and one diner mentions the chef coming out to check on the meal. Several call the prices reasonable. The caveat is portion size, which two reviewers call small, with one finding the bill steep for two starters, two small mains and three soft drinks. That same diner found the room so loud, with two large parties and children shouting across tables, that they wanted to walk out. Another found the food well cooked but nothing special. One reviewer's meal ended with a rainbow appearing outside.

“Decided to try here after hearing so many good reviews. The food was nice, but the portions were small. £65 for 2 starts, 2 small mains and 3 soft drinks is a bit steep considering the portion size. What made the experience worse was the level of noise. Sorry but how you can be expected to sit and enjoy a meal like that is beyond me. Two large parties shouting across the tables at each other, and kids shouting. Tables either side shouting as they were trying to talk over the screeching noise. Got to the point where I just wanted to walk out as it was that bad. To be honest, that's the worst restaurant experience for atmosphere ive had sadly”

“We booked and arrived on Wednesday 6.30pm. It wasn't busy so we could choose our own table. The staff member who greeted us was very polite. We were bought the poppadoms and dips straight away to start the meal. Starters were ordered and we're brought after about 10 minutes. Absolutely hot and delicious! Mixed meat platter for 1 (fish, lamb and chicken), chicken momo, chicken fried momo and vegetable momo. We all really enjoyed them. Mains came after about 20 minutes with accompanying jauli rice and chips. Beautifully presented again with absolute politeness from the staff members. The bread too was delicious - roti and gulio (a sweet bread with I think coconut paste inside). A lovely dining experience made even better with an appearance of a rainbow at the end of our meal! Thankyou to all the staff members! We will definitely be back to try more of your Nepalese food!”

“Very nondescript from outside, but dont be fooled. Swift friendly service, lovely food at a very resonable price. Whats not to like? always again!”

“This place is amazing. The service, the food - everything! We all absolutely loved it and we will definitely be back! I had the vegetable momos and a king prawn dish for main. None of us had a bad meal and we all cannot wait to return! Thank you all”
