About Maranto's

Maranto's is a family restaurant on Lark Lane in Liverpool, at 57-63 Lark Ln near Sefton Park, serving Italian American food and run by its family since 1983. The kitchen turns out pizza, including cheesy garlic pizza bread, along with lasagne and spaghetti dishes. A vegan jackfruit ragu gives plant-based diners a pasta option, and the homemade tiramisu finishes the menu. The interior has been recently refurbished inside a classic building. Cocktails are made behind the bar, with music playing in the room. An upstairs space is also being fitted out with dart games.

Customer Review Summary

Friendly, attentive staff are the most repeated draw. Reviewers describe servers and a barman who were patient, enthusiastic and happy to help, even when the outdoor seating was busy. Close behind is the food, called delicious, generously portioned and reasonably priced. The lasagne, cheesy garlic pizza bread, pizza with a brilliant base, tiramisu, spaghetti, chicken and BBQ ribs combo and a Sunday roast are all named, along with fantastic cocktails. Also mentioned are the refurbished building, the upstairs space with new dart games, and great music. The complaints are few but specific. One diner waited a long time for Sunday lunch food, though still called the roast the best tasting. Another found the accessible toilet had no pull cord, and a manager said it was an accessible toilet rather than a disability toilet, so that reviewer cautions wheelchair users. One diner with a dairy-allergic mother received a text from a manager the night before suggesting suitable dishes, and the mother then ordered the vegan jackfruit ragu.

“Amazing place, superb food and great prices, only slight downside was waiting for our food, about 50 mins, yes it was Sunday lunchtime and maybe there were larger groups ahead of us, that said it was the best tasting Sunday roast!”

“Came here for my mum's birthday. She has anaphylaxis to dairy and I made staff aware on the booking. The night before I had a text from a manager recommending dishes suitable for a dairy allergy, and staff were very attentive to this also when we were in the restaurant. My mum ordered the vegan jackfruit ragu, she said it's the best vegan meal she's ever had in a restaurant. I ordered the lasagne and cheesy garlic pizza bread, both were incredible and amazing value for money. Disability information: I'm unsure whether this venue is wheelchair friendly, there is level access into the building through a seperate door, there is lower down seating and an accessible toilet that's really nicely decorated and spacious, however there is no pull cord. When I spoke to a manager about this, they said it's an accessible toilet, not a disability toilet so they don't need a pull cord. If you're a wheelchair user just be cautious about the lack of pull cord if visiting this restaurant. Had a really enjoyable experience and will definitely be happy to visit again.”

“Despite living in Liverpool since 2023, I feel embarrassed to admit it's taken this long to visit Marantos, despite all the positive buzz I'd heard in this time. Earlier today I visited to celebrate my friend's Master's Graduation, and had the most lovely time. The food was reasonably priced and generously portioned, and the service was wonderful. I can promise it won't take so long for a repeat visit. Thank you Marantos and team for today.”
