  “The best burger in Linlithgow, and dare I say, Scotland! We stayed for two weeks near The Four Marys, so we went about four times to dine at the pub. Great service, amazing food, nice and joyful ambience, overall a beautiful pub. I recommend booking a table in advance because it can get quite packed in the evenings (which makes sense given everything I just mentioned). Thank you for hosting us the past weeks, we will definitely be back!”

  “We stopped by here on our way back from Linlithgow Palace. It was full when we arrived, but as it was around 1:30 pm on a Monday, we were seated after only a short wait. The food was absolutely delicious, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to Nikka (I hope I’ve spelled her name correctly), who was especially kind and made our visit even more enjoyable. It was my mum’s first trip to the UK and her very first fish and chips, and she absolutely loved it. We tried fish and chips at a few other places during our trip, but she still says The Four Mary’s had the best fish and chips. Thank you for such a lovely meal and a memorable experience. We’d happily recommend this place to anyone visiting Linlithgow!”

  “For me, this was a walk in halfway house between Edinburgh and Glasgow one night whilst away for work and staying around the corner. I’d call it busy for a Tuesday night in today’s climate but there’s good reason for it: A warm welcome awaits! Friendly and welcoming staff, attentive service and very good value for money. Pub classics menu (plus a few local curveballs) executed very well. I had steak and ale pie and mash. Delicious pie filling and gravy, smooth mash and veg al dente just how I like it. The beer is excellent; Camra award winning last year, which they are, rightly, very proud of. They await this year’s result as I write, but on today’s tasting should be a safe bet for another win or high commendation. Good food and a couple of delicious pints in a friendly, relaxing environment (noting a Tuesday visit…!) Thanks, and good luck for the upcoming Camra awards. Cheers 🍻”

  “AMAZING! JUST BRILL! Me and the family popped up for Father’s Day on Sunday. We were served by Callum and the service was brilliant. All the staff were very knowledgable and capable. Callum recommended us some great dishes and even whisky. The new menu is great, and I would recommend the balmoral chicken! The whole family loved the meal and at a great price too. One of my kids is also celiac, so it was great to see they had a ‘non-gluten containing’ menu and an allergens tablet that was so easy to use. I then came in with 2 friends today (Monday) and we just came for drinks, I wanted to try the Real ales, and was again served by Callum, who recommended some brilliant local ales and was very knowledgable on them again. The atmosphere was just superb both times I have visited. And will 100% be back, and cannot commend the staff enough, every member I spoke too was lovely, helpful, and initiative. This is an excellent pub, which you can tell is managed really well and have an amazing team working there. BEST IN LINLITHGOW!”

  “We stopped in for a quick drink. This was an amazing pub/restaurant. Clean, friendly staff, lovely decor, inviting, historical. The drinks and food were delicious. I definitely want to put this on my list of places to go back to on my next trip to Scotland!”

  “When we arrived, we were told there was a 45-min backlog as chef was new. But we decided to stay. In general, the burgers were quite good. For me, the meat was a bit dry (I do like blue/rare meat) but my friend loved it. So kudos to the new chef. The pub was really nice inside. Very traditional.”

  “This was literally some of the best foor thay we have ever had. Bar none. The mac & cheese was AMAZING. The burger was AMAZING. The service was excellent amd the atmosphere was perfect. Relaxing, friendly, and the staff were simply perfect. They had no issues with our service animal and even gave her some pets! We will be returning!”

  “Absolutely wonderful bar and restaurant. We had their famous Fish and Chips with Mushy Peas, well worth the wait which was long because they had a huge table of ladies in for lunch. Our teas we ordered were not so good (not very hot at all) The staff are helpful even when under pressure and helped with any questions we had. Definitely a place to try if your in Livingston.”

  “We came here after visiting Linlithgow Palace and had a great time. The staff was attentive and kind and the food was excellent. I got the Duck Hash which was succulent and the sauce really made. The duck wasn't a huge fan of the egg on top but it was fine. The potatoes were soft and really crispy on the outside! We got sticky pudding as dessert and it was just delightful. The caramel sauce was well balanced and the ice cream really brought in all the flavors together. Would highly recommend to a friend to come visit while out of here.”
