Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, with big, filling portions and dishes like haggis, neeps and tatties with a pepper sauce, a Goan fish curry served as the day's special, toasties and fries from the light bites menu, and a tartar sauce one reviewer calls the best ever. A chicken parm and a good range of gluten free options also get mentions. Cask ale and a good beer choice come close behind, and outside seating in glorious weather earns a nod. Staff are described as friendly, helpful and sweet, and one party was fitted in without a booking, though another reviewer suggests booking for larger groups because the pub was busy. The recurring complaint is kitchen timing. One visitor found lunches had finished by 2pm and thought that a bit early, while another noted the kitchen only ran in the evening. One reviewer calls the food pub grub quality. After a Sunday lunch, one family were allowed to carry their drinks into the room opposite and play darts.

“Good selection of food, a good selection of gluten free options. Would recommend the chicken parm. Old man style pub, reasonably large but was busy so would recommend booking for a larger group, pub grub quality food.”

“This was an incredible lunch on a Sunday, with 4 other family members. All staff were so helpful and the food was excellent. Once we had finished our lunch we took our drinks into a room opposite where we had eaten, and we were allowed to play darts while we finished our drinks. A priceless experience all round. We'll be back!!!”
