Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the excellent food, with one reviewer naming pan seared king scallops, wood pigeon, Gressingham duck breast and braised beef, then a cinnamon poached pear to finish. Others single out the steak, the bread and olives, and a delicious dessert. The menu and wine list draw repeated approval, and several describe friendly, attentive table service that made an anniversary and a birthday meal special. Service is also where the complaints gather. One reviewer felt constant upselling, saying a single nod brought three plates of bread, while another found it mostly helpful recommendations. A diner with a pre booked table reported a long wait for the starter and missing items that were only put right once management stepped in. Another calls the service sometimes good and sometimes nonexistent, and one noted that no soft drinks or beer were offered, only water or wine. Even so, one reviewer praised the excellent coffees, served with complimentary biscuits.

“Splendid (table) service, excellent coffees (Stokes!) and complementary biscuits - and for less than we'd have paid in Costa or Tesco! Will definitely be back...”

“A lovely venue with excellent food that was only let down by service that was sometimes good and sometimes nonexistent.”

“A wonderful discovery in a glorious location opposite the majesty of Lincoln Cathedral with food and service to match. For starters my wife enjoyed the quite exceptional Pan Seared King Scallops ( with Ham knuckle compression, vanilla soaked grapes, baked hazelnuts, pickled shallots) whilst for myself the Wood Pigeon (with Pork crackling, golden raisin crumble, beetroot, black berries, jus) was an absolute, mouth-watering delight. For the main I went for Gressingham Duck Breast (Confit duck leg, braised potato, pickled turnip, blackberry puree) and my other half enjoyed the Braised Beef (with Chive mashed potato, pot roast root vegetable, horseradish, red wine jus). The presentation and taste was quite simply culinary artistry of a standard seldom found in the majority of eateries in Lincoln. We both shared the Cinnamon Poached Pear for dessert (with Almond frangipane, blackberry sorbet, white chocolate) which provided a nicely balanced conclusion to a gourmet standard meal. Having eaten at restaurants both here in the UK and in France (which include a relatively local Michelin starred establishment) I have to say that the Green Room is on a level with these. The atmosphere was relaxed and the service provided by Nigella our waitress was both thoughtful and attentive to the needs of the customer. I encourage all you foodies out there to pay a visit to this gem of a restaurant.”

“The food was excellent and the service was even better! They were so attentive and the gentleman that served us was so bubbly/friendly. They made my mum's 50th meal very special and we would definitely recommend it to anyone!”
