  “Was the best chippy in Lincoln, went every Friday at one point. Really truly disappointing they've fallen to the generative AI craze. When I asked about their flyers, the guy that did them was even proud of it, it's easier was his excuse. I'd rather support a local place that actually cares about quality instead of supporting lazy generative AI that actively destroys communities, the environment and lines the pockets of those who would sell artists like myself for a quick buck. Do better.”

  “Working away for the week , and was Searching local eats , being a coeliac this popped up in my searches . Very nice touch doing GF Tuesdays, and it definitely didn't disappoint. Highly recommend to wizards , not sure if Muggle days are better ? But it's been a long time since Ive had a chippy tea , nothing local to me does it GF sadly. So well done Burton Road Chippy , keep up the good work 👌🏻👌🏻”

  “Food quality has declined to the point I've decided to go elsewhere. Staff are lovely but chips are dry and tastes like cardboard. The fish fillets are so thin that all of the fish is stuck to the batter and there is no chunks or flakes of fish. The batter is nice, but unfortunately that's it.”

  “In my opinion, Burton Road Chippy is easily the best in Lincoln. I thought I was dedicated by traveling 2 miles and passing several other chip shops to get here, but after chatting with other customers, I found out people regularly travel up to an hour just for their food. ​The Service: The quality never disappoints, and Julie and Deano are always fantastic—they truly make you feel welcome every time you walk through the door. ​The Perks: They offer a great loyalty scheme: a stamp card that gives you money off after your 10th visit (with a spend of £7 or more). While the discount is a nice bonus, it’s definitely not the main reason to go—the food is the real star of the show. ​If you’re in Lincoln and want top-tier fish and chips, this is the only place worth the trip.”

  “Staff were incredibly lovely and threw a good couple of jokes whilst I waited! The food was delicious, with a good variety on the menu to choose from. They are also thoughtful and considerate if you mention any food allergy, ensuring that they were comfortable the food provided, was safe. Definitely lovely to wait a few extra minutes to ensure the food is safe! Although on the slight pricier side, they are delicious and worth the price. 10/10 reccomend.”

  “What used to be one of, if not Lincoln's best chippy has definitely fallen from grace. Whether it's the energy price rises or just general inflation, the food and quality is no longer what it was. Flat fish, ends chopped off, poor batter, no flavour, handful of chips x2 : £28 quid please sir. Naaa you're ok, I'll pass.”

  “That was a nice piece of fish. I ordered a large cod just the fish. The batter was crispy and fresh. Freshly made to order. Can take a bit coming out depending on how many orders they have, but worth it. Recommended for the fish. The lady behind the counter was very polite as well.”

  “Omg I've finally found a decent chippy in the Lincoln area after moving here from Weymouth. See the pictures, if you can't taste the quality there's something wrong with you. The spuds are locally sourced, of course it's Lincolnshire and the fish is responsibly source and all the details are on the wall. The haddock and chips, scampi and chips were £18.50 (Aug '25) which is good considering everything has skyrocketed in price recent years. The shop is modern and very clean, very chatty happy staff and the fish and chips are just devine, now I want to go back again and again.”

  “We’re local to the area and call in as often as possible with this chip shop. Our order was two sausage, chips, large curry sauce, cod, chips, mushy peas and scraps/scrumps with a can of dandelion and burdock. All of this came to just under £20, so quite reasonable to be fair. The staff were nice and friendly but it can get busy for walk in orders, the queue was nearly out the door, but it’s understandable given how nice it is here. They also cater for Deliveroo/Just Eat etc. Highly recommended 👍🏻”
