  “What a beautiful place, I was quite shocked to see why this place got so many low star ratings. Me and my family had lunch here on Friday and the lunch was lovely. Staff was lovely and it was clean. Beautiful view looking over the lake which you can sit inside or out. We will be back again soon .”

  “If you’re taking people’s money first for food, you need to train your staff to let customers know that there’s going to be a 45 minute wait, if there’s items missing from the menu it’s not a good experience finding this out at the end of the 45 minute wait. The place wasn’t too busy today either.”

  “If your hungry, avoid, dont waste your money, Myself and my Daughter ordered a sweet chilli chicken panini with a side of chips, the panini was lacking jn the chicken, about 8 tiny pieces of chicken, When u pointed this out to lne of thd staff, I was told the chicken was pre portioned out, they really need to work on their portion sizes, the chips were senf back as were nearly cold. We will not be returning.”

  “Atmosphere is ok but not great, staff tried to take away drinks that weren’t finished while we were still at the table. Food is ok but not great; the chips were plain. Price is not great and the menu is out of date so was charged more than what was shown on the menu. Service wasn’t great either.”

  “We've visited Lakeside Cafe a few times and cannot understand why they serve food on saucers. Today we asked why to be informed that plates are only available for food coming from the kitchen and any food coming from where orders are placed comes on saucers because no plates are available there, how ridiculous is that. We often visit other cafes in the area like The Boathouse and Doddington Hall where both only use saucers for cups. We sat outside and there were numerous tables that needed emptying, the wind blew items onto the floor and into the lake, the cafe wasn't particularly busy.”

  “Been today for lunch. Never again. Firstly I sent my coffee back as it was barely lukewarm! After a long wait. Next my soup which was also cold! Got replacements for both. Coffee ok but still not hot. Soup lovely and hot but with an added hair. Yuk. My sister had a panini and the bacon was so hard I could have resouled my shoes. Bacon sent back but no replacement given. Like I said we will not return.”

  “First rate meal at reasonable prices. The log burner kept everyone warm on the bleakest of days. We even had the company of a handsome peacock strutting his stuff through the dining room.”

  “Ordered the steak and ale pie. The pie wasn't too bad but the chips were undercooked and the peas looked like they had been cooked a few times, hard and wrinkles. The gravy was like water and to be honest I would have been better ordering a sandwich.Definitely one to avoid for me in the future and definitely overpriced.”

  “Myself and my husband popped in for lunch, I had the tuna jacket potato and my husband had a panini, we both thoroughly enjoyed our food, my potato was absolutely delicious, we will definitely be back. Nice restaurant with a lovely view, staff were helpful & friendly. Would highly recommend a visit.”

  “Table service but don’t forget to pick up the stirrers by the till , it’s not written down so customers here are using the force; fancy a cake you will need to wrestle it from the flies in the cabinet ; sit down next to the green algae lake .visiting on your own don’t worry ,the staff are enjoying a cigarette near you in their own outdoor staff area , musically accompanied by the intermittent banging door as they come and go. Urgent need of refurb and staff to be re focussed on serving the customer. Potential health hazard and hardly the hanging gardens of Babylon. Wastelands of wishby perhaps”
