Customer Review Summary

Diners single out the freshly prepared sandwiches and rocky road as standouts, with many also praising the cappuccino and ice cream. The outdoor seating in the park and dog-friendly policy draw repeat visits, especially after walks. Several note the spacious, historic setting and quick, friendly service. A recurring complaint centers on the coffee, described by some as weak, cold, or watery, with one reviewer also reporting stale scones and cake, though replacements were offered. One account of a raw pasty and difficult service on a busy day is also noted. Many return for the sausage barms and the parkside location.

Enjoyed a good breakfast with nice coffees. Dry day so sat outside, service was friendly and quick. Dogs welcome.

Even if there is a long queue it’s worth the wait! Excellent sandwiches freshly prepared with a range of different fillings and great ice cream too. Could do with more outdoor seating at busy times but there are plenty of benches further into the park you can eat your food at.

It was a nice meal but my feedback would be the burgers would be improved by serving on a lightly toasted bun, preferably brioche, rather than a plain white bap. It's a little change but would make a big difference.

We last visited just before Christmas only just remembered to post about this! I got the rocky road which was so good, I had this last time and had to get again with a cappuccino, really nice coffee and sweat treats just a tad expensive. …

Very pricey, weak, cold coffee and stale scone. The food is too pricey so I had a scone. It was stale. It was replaced with a piece of cake. This too was stale and was apparently from an earlier bake. The replacement piece was OK. But the coffee is always weak here even with less milk. My friend described her coffee as 'watery'. It's disappointing as it could be a great place. They don't seem to respond to feedback as I notice others have made similar observations to no avail

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
