Customer Review Summary
Dogs and brunch dominate the picture at The Courtyard Café, with reviewers repeatedly highlighting how dog friendly it is, from a doggy menu to water and treats left out for pets. Close behind, the coffee and cakes draw consistent praise, alongside dishes like the sausage roll and a brunch buffet praised at a baby shower for its home made food and desserts. Several also mention the artwork around the room and the courtyard setting as part of the appeal. A recurring complaint centers on the welcome: multiple reviewers describe being told to just find a table with no greeting, and one recounts being "wafted away" by a dismissive staff member, leaving them feeling like it's a place where "your face fits." One reviewer also found a table sticky with crumbs despite spraying. Despite this, most describe returning, with one couple noting they visit regularly for lunch or breakfast with their dog.

“Finally managed to call in! Set back off the main road, plenty of parking, Quaint place inside, greeted by as we came in, Decided to chill on the sofas, Only had coffees and sausage roll. Cute dog roaming around very friendly. This place is very dog friendly fyi, Coffee came very hot, almost two hot but tasted fine once cooled a bit. The sausage roll was tasty. Next time we visited I’ll try the cakes / tray bakes as these looked delicious.”

“Staff were very dissmissive and abrupt with us upon entering. We hadn't been before so didn't know whether to order at the counter, or not. We were wafted away by a particulally rude member of staff. Food was OK. Butter would have been nice with the toast but given their attitude we wanted to eat up and leave asap. Feels like it's one of those "if your face fits" kind-of-places". There's plenty of Cafe life in Lytham and locally, we won't be going again. I think it may be the rude welcome that's put us off.”

“We thought we’d try somewhere different for lunch today and part of us wishes we’d gone to where we know! We walked in and were just told to find a table and then order at the counter, not the friendliest of greetings. The cafe was empty so not hard to find a table. Unfortunately the table was sticky, apparently from the spray but crumbs? We ordered and the drinks and food arrived quite quickly and was very nice, nothing special but we ate the lot. It is very dog friendly with their own doggy menu so definitely worth a pup date! 🐾”
