About La Viva Cafe Restaurant

Breakfast runs through the day at La Viva Cafe Restaurant, a cafe and cocktail bar on Fishergate in Preston, where a Turkish breakfast and menemen sit on the menu next to the English breakfast. That pairing gives the kitchen two directions to work in, and the wider card carries brunch and lunch options as well, alongside coffee and milkshakes. Service is at the table, with guests met on arrival, shown to a seat and their orders taken there. The doors open daily, and reservations are recommended. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without a kerb or stair, and high chairs make room for families with young children. Outdoor seats are available for anyone who would rather eat in the open air, and dogs are welcome to come along.

Customer Review Summary

Breakfast dominates the praise here, with several reviewers singling out plates cooked to order and free of grease, one calling it the best they had had in a long time, and another noting the kitchen agreed to combine two all-day breakfast options on request. Coffee comes up close behind and is generally called great, though one visitor rated it merely okay alongside a very good milkshake. The Turkish side of the menu draws repeat mentions, including a menemen described as delicious, while other orders named are a baked potato with tuna, cakes, and a steak wrap that arrived well done with no rare option offered. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and quick to seat people. The dissent is concrete: one reviewer found the food average and overpriced, with the Turkish breakfast small for what it cost and eggs poorly cooked, and another reported a stale sandwich and chips that tasted frozen. That same reviewer describes a male staff member repeatedly pressing her and her friend for their phone numbers after they declined, which left them uncomfortable.

Came here with my friend on Wednesday afternoon after my friend had spoken very highly about it. As soon as we walked in we were greeted nicely and were given a shaded table like we asked for. As we sat down they were wiping the table as it had some crumbs and cigarette ash on it. The guy wiping the table asked how we were and I replied that I was good and said it was really sunny and hot that day. He responded that the weather was hot “just like you”. Me and my friend are young women so I just brushed it off as him being overly nice. Our drinks and food came and it was unremarkable. The sandwich was stale and the chips seemed like they were frozen oven chips but it was fine. As we were getting up to pay the guy asked us. ”what the gossip was” we responded laughing and saying it was too long to summarise he then pressed on saying he had time to listen, we laughed still thinking he was just being overly friendly. We got to the kiosk going to pay and he had a pen and paper out asking for both of our numbers we replied that we weren't interested and he kept pressing on numerous times and just kept asking for our numbers after we repeatedly said no. As me and my friend are young women it made us SERIOUSLY uncomfortable and we will not be coming back here again !! It was a shame as my friend really liked that cafe.

Visited La Viva on a Wednesday afternoon. We ordered 2 coffee and a cakes, a stake wrap and a baked potato with tuna. The potato and cakes were lovely. The stake wrap was well done and I'd would of liked to have the option to have it rare. The staff were great our waitress was lovely. We will go again. Thank you.

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Listings are re-checked in batches against their public profile, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
