About The Lime Tree
The Lime Tree is a restaurant with a bar at 2 Cambridge Rd in Leicester, and its garden has a bar of its own, a kids' play area and free bouncy castles in summer, which suits families with children. The menu includes burgers, among them the rodeo burger and a chicken burger, along with a mixed grill and Stilton mushrooms as a starter. A carvery runs with an alternative menu beside it, and some dishes can be changed to vegetarian and are highlighted on the menu. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the service, with servers described as friendly, helpful and going above and beyond, including one who made a birthday meal for eight memorable and another who was kind to a four-year-old at a table of ten. The food is close behind, with the rodeo burger, a crispy chicken burger with halloumi, Stilton mushrooms to start, a mixed grill and the Sunday carvery all named, and diners call it tasty, hot and fresh. The children's play area and garden come up as a draw for families, and a few mention large group bookings of 10 and 23 handled well. The atmosphere is called great, lovely and comfortable. The caveats are small but specific: one reviewer found service slightly slow for a big family, said their table was too small for the seating area, and felt the prices were a bit steep even though the food was good. One diner noted that vegetarian swaps on the menu are highlighted.

“Just spent a wonderful afternoon here, having never been before. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced - I had the rodeo burger; tasty, filling and the provided sides were also great. Would also like to commend and thank our server (lady with the beautiful accent, accidentally (and very gently!) stood on my foot and couldn't apologise enough!). She was friendly, helpful, patient and an absolute delight and credit to the place. Hope that management see this and give her a raise, she's worth it! I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the area, and would very much recommend it to anyone looking for great food, fantastic service and a family friendly environment.”

“We went to the Lime Tree for the first time today and had lunch. Very impressed with the whole experience. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is an extensive menu catering for all tastes and was very good. The place itself is lovely not too modernised and very comfortable. We will definitely be going again..”

“We chose The Lime Tree for a central family meet up after reading other great reviews online. Whetstone is equal distance between my Aunt & Cousin in Halifax and myself and my husband in Farnborough. What a beautiful pub and we will definitely be visiting again! Great atmosphere, delicious food and above all fantastic, friendly staff. Lily was our main server and she was so friendly and chatty, welcoming us to Leicester when we told her where we had travelled from. Nothing was too much trouble for her at all. All in all an amazing visit! Thank you.”
