  “We went to eat at Desi Bite but the food was bad and the food was completely cold. There was no taste of anything and when we ordered finger chips, hair came out of it. We have filed a health and safety complaint against that shop. I request that no one eat at this Desi Bite. The food is rubbish and the service is very bad. Look for hair in finger chips looking for photos bed service bed food don’t go gujrati people”

  “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic experience at Desi Bites! The food was fresh, authentic, and full of flavour. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the quality exceeded our expectations. A special thanks to Harsh, who served us. He was very friendly, polite, and attentive throughout our visit. His excellent service made our dining experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for authentic vegetarian Gujarati food in Leicester, I highly recommend Desi Bites. We’ll definitely be back!”

  “EDIT: Sadly having to change my review due to multiple inconsistent experiences recently. It's a shame as this was my go to place. The thali does not have the same flavour anymore, the curries are pretty much tasteless and oily, and the dhokra is often dry and stale. The service has also not been great. It seems that they keep bare minimum staff. Today (Saturday) we waited 50+ minutes for our food, there was only 1 person serving food and 1 taking orders. Ordered a selection of indo-chinese dishes and thali, all of it came in dribs and drabs. We had to send dishes back for being too salty, too bland, not cooked properly. Felt like it was all cooked with no care. Had to chase up for thali refills 3 times, what is the point of having it unlimited? The manchurian noodles comes with 4 tiny balls of manchurian, such a small portion for nearly £8. Would definitely not recommend this place for any indo-chinese food, it's not their speciality. Overall I'm sad that Desi Bites isn't what it used to be. Won't be going for a while, hope they can review and bring it back to what it used to be. Previous Review: The best place in Leicester for Gujarati Thali and they accommodate vegans! Clearly labelled menu, they have Indian street food and traditional Gujarati dishes. The thali is £10 and you can refill it unlimited number of times. The food was so delicious and authentic, no unnecessary spices or oil, it’s like grandma’s cooking. The service can be slow but it’s worth it. The street food is okay but thali is the main show stopper here. Been here 20+ times and the food is always consistent. I hope they don’t keep increasing price, as the thali used to be £5 a few years ago!”

  “Saloni and Ajay made our visit unforgettable and incredibly addictive. This was the perfect end to our fabulous time in Leicester for such affordable, enjoyable prices. Highly recommend! One of the best restaurants in Leicester for sure. For those who indulge in the Gujarati cuisine, you are guaranteed to be ecstatic the entire night through!”

  “Was a wet afternoon so we stopped here and the service was very good. We had a number of drinks and a range of food. The samosa Chaat was amazing!! The cones were a little stale but everything else was really nice.”

  “Had lunch at Desi Bites. We ordered Gujrati thali and Maharaja thali - both super delicious. The taste, presentation and quality of food is excellent. We served by Khushi and she was very pleasant and polite. We had a lovely time.”

  “We recently visited Dadi Bites for a meal focused on Gujarati food, but our experience was just okay. The main issue we found was that the entire order was quite sweet; even for Gujarati cuisine, it felt like a bit much across all the dishes. The Chole Bhature was alright, but the Dosa was honestly terrible and the Sambar wasn't any better. They do have Punjabi food on the menu as well, but we decided to skip it because we calculated that it probably wouldn't be very tasty either given the flavor profile of the other dishes. On the positive side, the service was definitely good and the staff were very attentive to us. Would we visit again? Definitely not, unless we were specifically craving Gujarati food and nothing else.”

  “Heard a lot of good things about this place so decided to try it out for myself, food was very disappointing, enjoyed the mango lassie drink, no atmosphere only good thing was my server he was polite friendly and respectful, parking is a nightmare as well.”
