Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the authentic Malaysian flavours, and the rendang curry is the standout, called one of one reviewer's favourite dishes in Leeds. Close behind are the satay and the roti canai, along with tofu, duck and salmon dishes described as excellent, and a flaky flatbread with a rich, savoury dip. Meals come with extras such as peanuts and crackers, and several mention friendly, polite servers. A cosy, homely feel comes up in a few reviews, while others describe a plain interior with no flashy decor. Portion size is the recurring complaint: two reviewers call portions small, one singling out the roti canai as disappointing for the price and another wishing the portions were bigger. One reviewer found the rice for the nasi lemak not coconut-creamy enough and wanted a protein option. Another seated near the entrance felt a cold draught each time the door opened and was not closed behind guests, and plans to ask for a table further inside next time.

“I had such a fantastic dining experience here recently. The atmosphere is lovely and everything we ordered arrived beautifully presented. The food was absolutely delicious and packed with flavour. We particularly enjoyed the flaky flatbread, which paired perfectly with the rich, savoury dip. It was a real highlight of the meal. I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone in Headingley looking for a great meal. I am already planning my next visit to try even more from the menu.”

“Had a wonderful bruch at KL Cafe. Food was good and authentic, as a small feedback we would have loved if there is an option to order Nasi Lemak with protein (shrimp or prawn, chicken etc). Rice was good but wish it was more coconut-creamy. Overall very good food!”

“Portions could be bigger and quite quiet on a Saturday afternoon but flavours were excellent and dishes were interesting. A welcome change.”
