Customer Review Summary

Diners most often praise generous portions of well-cooked food served by friendly, attentive staff. One reviewer describes a chicken tikka starter, masala fish, a chicken spinach balti and a Rajshani garlic chilli chicken rogan, each cooked to order, not greasy, and served with giant chapatti. Others point to a mix of traditional favourites and chef specials, though one finds the menu fairly generic and westernised. The room is called clean and bright, but also a little cold, and chilly near the door. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the meat starter in a Sizzling Mix was mostly sharp bones rather than chops, and the listed email address bounced back. Another says two curry orders lacked flavour, with the heat fading quickly and everything floating in oil. A third, whose collection order was missing an item, got a replacement but says a staff member accused them of regularly claiming missing food. Regulars also mention doggy bags offered without asking.

“Come here regularly (even at Christmas) and the food is always great, the staff are attentive without imposing and it's always a pleasure. Generous meal portions, with doggy bags offered without asking.”

“My mum lives local so I've used Alishaan a lot over the years when I've visited - both dining in and takeaway. Generally, the food's been very good and the guys there are great - very friendly. However, my last order, i.e., Sizzling Mix and Fish Platter costing me £27 was a joke. What they tried to pass off as chops in my the meat starter was nothing more than bones and sharp ones at that. The rest of the meat wasn't great either. The fish was okay but the "meat" ended up in the bin - none of it was nice! If I'd not had a drink, I would have taken it all back and asked for a refund. I appreciate we all have our bad days so the quality not being up to scratch could be forgiven but to send out those bones and pass them off as chops...there's no excuse for that; that's taking the proverbial. It'll be a while before I go back again but if I do, it'll be in person rather than having the food delivered. I did try and email Alishaan but all I got was a "bounce back" even though that's the email listed and it's the one that confirmed my order.”

“The food was good, However I Ordered food via there website to Collect, Arrived, Paid got home, and noticed there was an item missing, I went back to the restaurant and just let them know I was missing that item, they said to double check and I did there was no item, they said they would make a new one and they did, he came over gave me the bag and said are you sure it wasn’t there and I explained I triple checked, he said are you sure because we never miss items and it seems to happen a lot with you coming to the restaurant and asking for missing food, baring in mind I have never had food missing from my order before, he accused me of stealing food and didn’t even apologise for the food being missing in the first place, he was the rudest staff member ever and I have been there a lot and never seen such a rude guy before. I am shocked and appalled at that service! You cannot accuse your customers of something that had never happened, Disgusting”
