Customer Review Summary

Curries draw the most comment, and reviewers split sharply on them. Praise centers on a karahi called beautiful and a vegetarian curry the kitchen made off the menu with Quorn pieces a parent supplied, which a young diner finished and asked to take home. Others describe a lovely meal with warm serving plates, a water feature wall and a beautiful starter, and one finds the room ideal for moderate size parties. The complaints outnumber the praise. A chicken tikka masala is called watery and bland under heavy spice, and a repeat customer says curries and chutneys have turned watery over recent orders. A roghan josh arrived as pieces of meat in a salt and chilli onion mix, and a meat pilau as hard rice in sweet gravy. Chips are called soggy and reheated. One diner reports chicken pakora that smelt off and nearly made them sick. Two reviewers describe lamb chops that were boiled or almost raw, and one says staff insisted that was how they should be.

“Hi guys.. Its not a great review unfortunately.. I ordered a chicken tikka masala tonight with chips, 2 poppadoms, tub of mint sauce and a mango chutney.. The chips were terrible.. Soft and extremely soggy, like they were reheated in old oil.. The tikka masala was watery with huge amounts of spice to mask the lack of taste, it was very bland but really spicy (confused) The mint sauce was actually nice tonight! The Mango chutney was also watery.. I could have drank this out of the tub it came in.. I could post photos but I don't want to embarrass you! I say this with a very sad heart, because once upon time you were the best.. I will not be returning!! You need to sort the chef out! They should not be sending food out to customers like that!”

“Excellent but could the owner start to understand that condiments should be free e.g. chutney at least include 2 in small takeaways and 3 in large takeaways. Sorry to say ordered 3 times this month and standards of curries has fallen. All curries are watery and it seems the quality affects the taste. Used to love the chutneys but now they have becoming watery and taste is so different. Indian nights chutneys and curries were best now we are looking elsewhere. May 2024”

“Just order roghan josh and sent pieces of meat in crushed onions salt and chillies mixture with onion stips on top. No way near called normal handi never mind roghan josh. Price on line shows 9.20 but charge more. On website it says free delivery over £10 order in 2 mile radius but when I call back the owner said I charge £1 delivery. Mix started for 2 should have everything similar 2 but it didn't. It was not even fresh taste. Ridiculous tasteless and manorless food. I didnot even eat as dont feel like eating. I wish I can say please come and take it back and eat yourself so you know how tasteless it is.”

“Ordered for the first time on Just Eat - just had to put the whole order in the bin, hate wasting food, and can't believe this is served to people ! so disappointed- ordered paya , meat pilau and sweet rice with rotis - awful and inedible - tasted like they'd made a horrible thick curry Gravy like there was sugar or something sweet in it and thrown the paya in and then thrown hard not fully cooked rice into the same meat gravy and called it meat pilau lol ! The roti's were not fresh at all and were hard and chewy - sweet rice awful ! Probably the worst take away I've ordered in my life as nothing was good enough to eat - went by all these good reviews and couldn't believe what I got ! , what a complete waste of money - disgusting, I have never given such a bad review and hate wasting food but had no choice -”
