About Marriott's Warehouse

Marriott's Warehouse is a British restaurant on South Quay in King's Lynn, set in a Grade II* listed 16th-century building that opens daily. A local history exhibition upstairs gives visitors detailed models and information boards about King's Lynn locations, so a meal can come with a look at the town. The ground-floor restaurant serves a seasonal menu of local meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes, including fish and chips with chunky chips and mushy peas. Lunch adds salads, among them a mango and avocado salad. Dinner is a three-course menu with wine. The drinks list covers real ales, wines and coffee, and a first-floor bar area sits above the dining room.

Customer Review Summary

Fish and chips draws the most specific praise. One diner calls it the best they have ever had, and another describes light, well seasoned batter and chunky chips that were not soggy, though that reviewer also found the batter a little chewy and the mushy peas bland. Close behind are a slow cooked beef rib, a pork chop with a sauce one diner loved, a varied fish platter, and generous salads, including a mango and avocado one and a crispy chicken one. Staff are described repeatedly as friendly and attentive, and one party without a booking was welcomed. The main complaint is a long wait for food on one busy evening, though staff apologised and kept the table informed. One reviewer suggests part of the outdoor seating be made non-smoking. Diners also mention the river and sunset views, dog friendliness, and detailed models on display upstairs, and one finished the meal with a refreshing lemon tart.

“Amazing experience this evening for my girlfriend and I during our visit to kings lynn! We were greeted by Samuel who sat us promptly, despite us being very early for our booking. Throughout the evening Samuel, and all other members of staff who served or checked on us made the experience very personable and fun! Every dish arrived quickly and was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. A very enjoyable evening eating delicious food with a view of the sunset over the Ouse!”

“Have been here twice for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed both meals. Josh and Ella served us on the two occasions and we could not have asked for better service. Food choices were discussed and preferences were offered which did not disappoint. Our food choices were tender and tasty and we feel that we got value for money. On both occasions we spent around £90 for two people which included 3 courses and a bottle of wine. Overall, two amazing meals enjoyed to the fullest.”

“Myself and my partner visited this afternoon just for a coffee but then saw some of the lovely looking food being served so indulged ordering a main, pudding and soft drink each. Great atmosphere and excellent service combined to make this one of the best eateries in King's Lynn”

“Lovely decor, nice area outside on the riverside protected a little from the wind. The toilets are upstairs but they were very accessible via a lift. We had fish and chips. The batter was very light and well seasoned, but a little chewy. The chips were nice and chunky, well cooked without being soggy. The mushy peas were a little bland but okay. The service was very good. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.”
