Quick info
About Tipsy Teapot Restaurant
Bacon donuts, bottomless cocktails and a DJ upstairs give Tipsy Teapot Restaurant a double life as both a daytime eating place and a night venue on High Street in King's Lynn. The kitchen runs to roughly 52 dishes, covering breakfast and lunch alongside tapas and sharing plates that parties order several of between two, plus steak, burgers, chicken, fries and loaded chips and nachos. Sandwiches and lighter plates include the Ploughmans, the Moroccan Shroom and the Tuna Crunch. Dishes carry labels for gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and dairy-free diets, so mixed groups can order from the same list. The drinks list is extensive, with cocktails and mocktails served alongside the food. An upstairs seating area holds the music, and tables there can be booked. It opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
The sharing plates draw the most comment, and they split opinion. Several describe ordering six tapas between two and finding them well cooked and quirkily presented, with bacon donuts singled out as the standout surprise. Close behind sit the mains, a steak called juicy and tender alongside loaded chips and nachos, and a burger praised for its pretzel bun rather than the usual brioche. Others mention lovely fries, delicious puddings, and bottomless cocktails at a hen party where the drinks kept flowing. The counterweight is substantial: one diner found the tapas undersized, lukewarm and greasy, with a runny sauce that would not coat chopped sausage on a satay skewer, mocktails too sweet, and water never brought on a quiet night. Another lunch visitor thought the food not bad but not enough to prompt a return, and one party noted flavourless chicken and no belly pork available. Waits for the bill and worn wall paint also come up, and several suggest booking, having only just squeezed in.

“We came for bottomless cocktails and tapas for a hen party; Kyle and George were very attentive. Their service was excellent and they kept the drinks flowing. Food was yummy and the cocktails were tasty too! …”

“Great experience! Food was fantastic! Me and my wife both agreed this been the best place to eat on our Honeymoon. The atmosphere and general theme of the restaurant was great, the only negative is some of the paint work on the walls need touching up as some starting to look a bit worn, and front windows need a bit of a clean. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great! Steak was juicy and tender and had it with loaded chips/nachos which is a great combination. The burger was great and loved the use of a pretzel bun instead of the over used brioche buns. Staff were lovely , only marked down slightly as had to wait quite a while for the bill. Would definitely recommend this place!”

“We came here for a birthday lunch stop whilst exploring the area. It is so nice to have an interesting, well run eatery in King's Lynn. We often have to eat out of town to find good options including vegetarian food but no more! The menu …”

“Tipsy Teapot has a good vibe, and has great potential to be a cracking night venue. We went there for lunch though, and were slightly disappointed with the food. It's not bad per se, but doesn't make you want to revisit. It also gives the …”
