Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the Sunday roast, with two diners calling it one of the best they had had and another enjoying the Sunday dinners. Close behind is praise for the historic building and its character, along with staff described as friendly, helpful and polite. Fish and chips with a pint of Pedigree, starters and sides, and a tomato soup also get a mention, and the dog friendly areas please several visitors. Overnight guests describe a comfortable, spacious room and free parking, though one calls the room a bit tired with signs of past damp. Slow service is the recurring complaint. One group waited well over an hour for mains with no apology while other tables complained at the bar, and another found an unavailable item delayed the whole order. One reviewer called a veggie burger tiny for its price and a glass of Malbec too steep. Another was seated beside a large dog and two yappy sausage dogs despite asking for the non-dog area when booking. One diner who stayed overnight noted a single rushed server in the restaurant.

“The food was lovely, the staff were very friendly, and the historic building was beautiful. However, I was disappointed that, despite specifically requesting when booking to be seated in the non-dog-friendly area, we were seated right next to a large dog and there were 2 yappy sausage dogs in the part of the dining area that we were seated. As the restaurant advertises dog-friendly areas, I had expected this request to be respected as dogs can spoil a meal out for some.”

“Nicely decorated inside. We had a drink outside while waiting for our table slot under a large waterproof tent. Plenty of parking and seating outside. The staff were knowledgeable and pleasant and provided menu's, food, drinks, bills quickly. The food was very nice, we had the sunday dinners and enjoyed everything.”

“Gorgeous Sunday lunch today. Both of us said it was one of the best roasts we had ever had. Staff lovely and nothing too much trouble. Ate in the dog friendly area which was an added bonus as we had our furry friend with us on our weekend away. Would highly recommend. Pity we are a 2 hour drive away or we would be here every month.”

“Visited on a late September Sunday and noted that there were banners saying 'Under New Management'. We had no reservation, but we were accommodated at table for 2. We ordered our food and drinks on the QR code. The drinks arrived quickly and was soon followed by the tomato soup starter, which my husband was nice. We waited and waited and then waited a little bit more for our mains - it must have been getting on for over an hour. The waitresses were doing their best throughout the visit, despite overhearing that one of them had gone on an hour and half break. However, we didn't get an apology for the delay. When the food eventually arrived, it was fine which was good as we were both very hungry at this point. We did notice that other tables were waiting as well and they complained to, who I think was the landlord behind the bar, but that didn't do much good - we watched the interaction between him and the customers and it appeared to us that he didn't give two hoots! The landlady (I think it was) only seemed concerned that the Heinz ketchup, mayo and mustard condiments were filled up (no one came and got any of them while we there). It was a very unexpected long lunch and we just managed to catch the last train back to Keighley. When we visit Haworth again, I think we would find an alternative for lunch. Sorry if this reads as so negative, but it is what we experienced.”
