Customer Review Summary

Mixed grills draw the most praise. One reviewer calls the mini grill spot on, with nicely cooked meats, and another ordered the ultimate mixed grill alongside a double crispy chicken burger and salt and pepper chips. The Chicken New Yorker, Hunters chicken and a lemon meringue dessert also earn good words, and several describe friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and food that is good for the price. Parents say their children love coming, though one finds the soft play small and best suited to ages 3 to 6. Food is where opinions split. One diner found the steak bland, the gammon and chicken dry and the Coke flat, with not enough cutlery at the station. Another reports a well done 16oz steak with gristle, plus cold peas and onion rings, and one reviewer called the food the worst they had had. Portions are described as plentiful, with one party unable to finish their grill and chips.

“Had the Chicken New Yorker which was delicious, with crispy chips. A decent enough sized portion, with a drink was very much reasonably priced, and served fantastically promptly! All in relaxing cosy and comfortable surroundings. Looked after ably by Laura who was very attentive and kept checking if everything was okay. Would certainly recommend, and hope we return the next time we visit family”

“Food was lovely, our children always love coming here, always a hit. Our server was Clare and she was lovely, nice to be greeted with a smile. It's nice wether your a couple having a cheeky pub date or a group of girls having a few drinks and some food or even a family wanting somewhere kid friendly to eat.”

“Lovely atmosphere, background music was good, not too loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. Staff attentive without being overbearing/interrupting dining, tables were clean and cleared swiftly after people left. Food menu is fairly wide, various meat options, the mini grill was spot on, with the meats being nicely cooked and of good flavour/texture. Lemon Meringue dessert was excellent”
