Customer Review Summary

Friendly, welcoming staff come up most often, from bar staff to a chef and a waitress, and several reviewers say they felt looked after from the moment they walked in. Praise for the food centres on the Junction burger, called well seasoned, cooked perfectly and generous, with the steak pie and mash also described as delicious. Drinkers mention a good spread of real ales and a smooth Saltaire Blonde, and others like the beer garden and the value and portion sizes. Food is where opinion splits sharply. Complaints include a fatty, tough belly pork, soggy battered fish, cold tagliatelle, cold peas, tough gammon and a runny egg. Reviewers also describe poor Sunday and Father's Day roasts, with small portions, a frozen Yorkshire pudding and plates that looked like they had sat for hours. One reviewer reports three of five in their party became ill with food poisoning after a meal. Another says a large party found the kitchen closed at 8pm with no desserts offered, and the coffee came cold. When one table sent its roasts back, the waitress sorted alternatives.

“We came for a meal on Saturday 25th July. We were a party of 5 one being a small child. 3 out of 5 got food poisoning. We contacted the Junction and were offered a free meal 🤦‍♀️ ( why would we eat at the place that had given three of us Food poisoning). We had, gammon egg chips & peas, 2 x steak chips & peas and one greedy pig. The small child had burger. The gammon was tough, peas cold ( see from a previous review they encountered the same with the peas), the egg was snotty obv not cooked properly. The steak was chewy. The child's burger was hard. Really poor & extremely poor customer service when we informed them 3 people had food poisoning!!!”

“The food was not edible! We had to send the roasts back on father's day. Looked like they had been plated up hours ago. The pie was ok. Waitress was great, and sorted alternatives for us. Would not recommend for food!”

“I booked for 12 people for a birthday meal saturday nite at 7pm. I was asked to prebook food as a large party. I prebooked and we arrived on time table for 12 (reserved sign clearly stated 12)only 11 chairs, i had to go andva chair from another table, that was the start of a bad nite . Belly Pork. Fatty, served in a dish, with very fatty gravy all over the meat was very tough, unable to cut it. Fish and Chips, the batter was soggy, fish no taste. Chicken and mushroom tagitelle, was cold with some of the chicken being very tough. Pie and gammon the best but the peas were cold. I asked for desert menu to be told we could not have any deserts kitchen closed i was not told kitchen closes at 8pm when i booked. We asked for coffee and was told no coffee, when i asked to see manager, we were offered coffee.
