About Lahore Spice
Karahi is ordered by weight at Lahore Spice, a Pakistani restaurant on High Road in Ilford, where a half-kilo mutton karahi is sized for sharing and arrives alongside roti and naan made fresh to order. Curries form the core of the menu, with grilled kebabs and starters such as samosas in keema and aloo versions rounding it out. The format is walk-in, so orders are placed at the counter rather than booked in advance, and service moves quickly. A step-free, wheelchair-accessible entrance lets visitors with mobility needs come and go without a step at the door. The kitchen runs daily.

Customer Review Summary
Fresh naan and roti draw the most praise, with reviewers calling the roti always made fresh and the naans freshly made, though one finds the naan slightly small. Curries and pakora are called delicious, fish pakora gets a mention, and one reviewer loves the biryani. Others describe the takeaway as quick, with friendly staff. The complaints are specific. One reviewer says a half kilo karahi looked like a small portion of stale, oily meat and arrived already cooked despite a request for spicy. Others describe samosas labelled keema holding only green peas, a frozen kebab roll, and a biryani that was stale and smelt bad. One reviewer reports digestive problems after the mutton karahi, and another says the biryani could cause food poisoning. Kababs and roti are also said to come a bit burnt, and one reviewer advises asking them not to burn the roti.

“It’s quick and fast. I LOVE their biriyani but I don’t really like their Kababs as they burn it a bit. Roti’s are good but again, it’s kinda burnt so make sure you ask them to not burn it.”

“Big prices, small portions. Ordered 1/2 kg karahi and was looking like 250-300 grams which was looking stale(2-3 days old) and full fried oil. Asked to make spicy but served already cooked. Naans were pretty good and freshly made.”

“The worst biryani ever. It was bad and stale and smelt terrible had to throw everything in the bin. Terrible. It’s insane how this restaurant is still open as it can cause food poisoning. Disgusting.”
