About Junglees Barkingside
Junglees Barkingside is a halal American restaurant on High St in Ilford, taking walk-in guests rather than reservations. Customer Review Summary
Smash burgers are the main draw at Junglees, with reviewers pointing to the double and triple smash patties and the Beef Smash Burger, plus the unlimited free toppings and sauces that let them build their own. Close behind are the Chick Lover chicken burger and the loaded fries, especially the beef and chicken versions, and Korean sticky wings, which several prefer to the Brazilian citrus ones. Reviewers describe the food as fresh and clean, and several praise friendly staff and a spotless dining room. The complaints are specific. One diner found the loaded fries sauce overwhelmingly spicy and the food slow, watching other tables get served first, and a parent said the kids' mini chicken meals were a little spicy. Another reports drinks leaking through the cling film on every order, and one found the mozzarella sticks seemed cooked from frozen with no cheese pull. Parking on the high street is described as hard to find, with one reviewer suggesting arriving after 6 PM. One reviewer also credits the restaurant with providing free food to vulnerable young people in partnership with the local council.

“Stumbled across this store, bought the Chick Lover and I must say it was a fantastic burger. Everything about it was perfect, bursting with flavours and the seasoning on the chips was also the right amount. I'll definitely come again and recommend this place to everyone as one of Barkingside's best burgers!”

“Absolutely brilliant food and service! The burgers were fresh, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was spotless, and the food came out quickly. Great portions for the price too. Definitely one of the best fast food places in the area. Highly recommend”

“Let's start from the top Junglees is a unique establishment for this area, I say this because it is simply outstanding and I will elaborate why. The atmosphere is built for sharing moments with friends/family at the table or even if you're in for a solo lunch. Open and inviting, well laid out with a cool almost diner like vibe, with a flat top in the background clanging away making burgers. I ordered a triple smash patty burger as a large meal with the korean sticky wings(I am a big guy and this was honestly alot to handle, had to waddle back to the car after) my wife had the double smash patty with brazilian citrus wings. For drinks we had lotus biscoff milkshakes. The burger came with whatever toppings we wanted, the bun out outstanding not some standard deflated sad bun that most places use, this bun held it all together and was sesame seeded, love it. The smash patties, beefy, heafty, bold, filling, clean didnt taste off or disgusting beautiful fresh, loved it. The wings, clean , fresh, crunchy clearly not frozen the korean ones defo edge out as a favourite. The milkshake not over sweet, well balanced well presented. What I am trying to get at here if it isn't obvious already is this place has clearly been created with a passion for good food and I will be honest is perhaps my most favourite place to go to in London. I understand why these guys hold the titles they do but I think everyone else who loves a good burger should come and experience.”

“I recently visited Junglees in Barkingside and had a mixed experience. While the burger tasted unique and very nice, I felt it was a bit pricey for the quality and flavor provided. On a positive note, I really enjoyed the service; the staff were attentive and made the visit pleasant.”

“The chicken burger was absolutely unreal — perfectly crispy, juicy chicken packed with flavour in every bite, layered with fresh toppings and the softest bun. And the loaded fries? Next level. Crispy fries covered with cheesy, saucy goodness that honestly stole the show. Every bite tasted fresh, hot, and addictive. Easily one of the best burger spots I’ve tried, and I’m already craving it again. If you love proper comfort food done right, this place is a must-try.”
