  “Came into a really quiet Wednesday afternoon and was really disappointed at the service and cleanliness. Ordered food which took 30 minutes to arrive, Ordered two drinks which took 40 minutes to arrive, there was only about 3-4 tables including mine that had customers on it. Food that arrived wasn't made correctly, wrong toppings etc, luke warm. Ordered desserts which took another 40 minutes, and I had to ask the staff where the food was twice. Our plates from our main dishes weren't cleared until our desserts arrived. Nearly an hour of dirty plates on our table. When our desserts did finally arrive, they were barely warm, and the lava cookie was rock hard and impossible to eat. Staff were stood around doing nothing and talking to each other while we were waiting for our food to arrive. Only one lovely lady on the bar while her coworkers are doing nothing. And one very nice lady in the wacky warehouse area. The tables around us were covered in filth as well, really disappointed.”

  “Really enjoyed it here and the carvery was great. The highlight was Paul though who couldn't do enough to help. My mum is disabled amd he went above amd beyond to ensure she was comfortable and helped her carry her carvery back to the table even. Genuinely nice bloke who made you want to come back. Would definitely recommend.”

  “Visited the Mottram Wood for dinner and had a really enjoyable meal. The pub is much larger than it looks from the outside, with plenty of seating and a spacious, comfortable atmosphere. I ordered the curry, which was very tasty and well cooked. Service was friendly and the food arrived in good time. Overall, a pleasant experience and somewhere I’d happily visit again for a meal. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxed place to eat with plenty of room. 🍛👍 If you’d like, I can also make it sound more casual, more humorous, or more likely to get “helpful” votes on Google.”

  “We were staying at the Premier Inn overnight, so Mottram Wood was ideal for our evening meal. I had the carvery, the Turkey & beef were excellent very tasty and an amazing amount of ideally cooked fresh vegetables. My husband had the Sirloin cooked correctly but not the best tasting. We both had the brownie which was very tasty. Staff were friendly & helpful, as soon as a table became vacant they were there taking away plates etc & cleaning the table. We also next day had the continental breakfast. A good range of cereals, granola yoghurts & fresh fruit. The pastries were good including pancakes, crumpets, white & brown bread. I have never seen such an array of jams, so nice to see, also golden syrup, various marmalade & marmite. I said to the waitress the only thing missing was nutella, she said it is on request as unfortunately they had to be removed from the breakfast bar as people were deliberately bursting them. They were definitely thinking of their customers when they designed what they were providing. Though we didn't have the cooked breakfast it looked very appealing especially the fried egg. The staff were very friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble.”

  “I’m was staying next door at the hotel with a meal voucher for Mottram Wood. Went to the bar to order food. Gentleman took my order then said the hotel have not yet supplied him with the room voucher list but he’d be back in 1 minute. No problem, I stood and waited. And waited. And waited some more, before going back to my table. After about 25 minutes I went back to the bar and re-ordered my food. Ordered the mixed grill to be told they don’t have sausage. No problem, still ordered it. Lady told me she would need me to sign for the order. I asked if I should sign now and she said yes. Then she went on to serve someone else. I stood there while she completed that order then went back to my table when she started serving someone else. Food arrived…. With no cutlery. I asked the person that dropped the food on my table for a fork. She pointed towards a cutlery station and told me to go there. No forks present, had to go walking around the restaurant to find cutlery. As for the food…. “Dressed salad”? No dressing. Chicken as dry as leather. Zero seasoning or sauce. I managed to eat the steak but the rest of it was a 2/10. Pretty shocking service and food. I would definitely avoid in future and will definitely eat somewhere else tomorrow. I will not be returning to the Premier Inn Manchester Hyde either as Mottram Wood is the only restaurant linked to this hotel.”

  “It was a little bit of a wait in line for the Sunday Roast plates but the staffer was very friendly. I don’t recommend getting the large plate for one person as it was a TON of food (though very good). It was very busy on a Sunday night but we found the service to be very adequate and the Greene King app makes ordering and everything quite easy.”

  “Staff couldn't be bothered untidy and scruffy. No meet or greet Carvery extremely poor veg dried out and very little in display dishes ,meat gammon tastie roast beef chewy dried out ( see picture ) Pub dirty looking dark and dissmill. Give it a miss”

  “You get what you pay for. £15 for a drink and a carvery is good value in today’s world. But for £30 2 people at home, could cook a much tastier, fresher roast dinner. The service was a bit ropey. The staff didn’t look particularly fresh or clean. The clientele was diverse. Therefore that represents the atmosphere. It felt like a very local pub, despite being a chain.”

  “Living in Suffolk and well acquainted with Greene King pubs this was a little bit on the marmite side... People - much friendlier than suffolk folk and certainly less ignorant. Staff - seemingly over worked and slightly stressed. Though pub did not look overly busy. Polite and friendly enough to be fair. Food - The steak (medium cooked) offered itself as a fine piece of jerky, the corn ribs should have came with a glass of water and rehydration instructions and the deep fried bread crumbs with a sprinkle of chicken where choke worthy. The healthier green stuff offered a taste of the earth it was created in, covered in the mud it was pulled from. All of the above unlikely the chefs fault as I dare say they're following Greene King mass produced, mass profit instructions.. Overall massively underwhelming but food all the same that my teenage boy was more than happy to finish off for me.”
