About The Black Bull Godmanchester
The Black Bull Godmanchester is a pub at 32 Post St in Huntingdon, with en-suite rooms to let for overnight stays. The bar serves cask Marque accredited ales, and the kitchen runs a pub grub menu that includes a 65+ menu with fish and chips. A Sunday roast comes in a beef version and a vegetarian version. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the friendly staff, with one young waiter singled out for serving a party of eight well and another for bringing a bowl of water and a treat for a dog. Close behind is the pub food: a Sunday roast with a good vegetarian option and well-cooked veg, beef that one diner enjoyed, and old British pub grub in generous portions at reasonable prices. Several also mention the rooms, calling one beautifully appointed with a comfortable bed, and others praise the parking. Dog-friendliness comes up more than once. The food draws the main complaint. One group left most dishes half eaten, and the over-65s fish and chips came with very acceptable chips but heavily breaded fish fingers rather than fish. Another visitor arrived for an early lunch to find no food being served and stayed for a pint, noting that the staff know their beer. Several suggest checking food times, and the beer garden is described as concrete but comfortable.

“We stopped in for a Sunday roast today, and we were not disappointed. There was a good vegetarian option, which was a bonus, and the veg was cooked perfectly. My husband had the beef, which he really enjoyed. Great service, we will be back!”

“Dropped in looking for an early lunch, but they weren't serving food at the time. Stayed for a cheeky pint instead. Beer garden is a bit concrete/ashfelt, but feels comfortable. The staff were friendly and know their beer, can definitely recommend, but if you're looking to eat, check times.”

He was ON POINT from A-Z. He had a great attitude, was friendly, and provided us with Excellent service. I was thoroughly pleased with my dining experience (we all were), and I definitely plan on coming back during my next visit to the UK. Wishing this establishment and the team continued success.
