  “After living in the UK for nearly three years, The Crown Inn in Broughton became much more than a place to eat—it truly felt like a home away from home. As someone with celiac disease, finding restaurants I can trust isn’t always easy, but Mark and his team consistently went above and beyond to make me feel safe and well looked after. Their gluten-free options are excellent and clearly thought through, with plenty of choices rather than just a few token dishes. They also cater brilliantly for vegetarian and vegan diets, making it an easy place for everyone in our group. Over the years, we’ve visited for so many occasions—Christmas meals with the pub beautifully decorated, baby showers, promotion celebrations, date nights, and countless casual dinners. Our close friend even lived in the nearby Little Church Cottage, so this became her local, and it very quickly became ours too. The food has always been consistently great. I’ve had everything from steak nights to sausages and mash, and more recently a traditional Sunday roast where I had the gluten-free fillet of beef, which was outstanding. The desserts are a real highlight too—especially the steamed carrot pudding with orange syrup and cream cheese ice cream, which was unforgettable. I also always enjoyed their sticky toffee pudding variations, and when in doubt, the vegan ice cream was a reliable favourite. For cocktails, the Pornstar Martini is always a go-to. Beyond the food, the setting is beautiful. Broughton is a classic English village with sheep in nearby fields and a peaceful charm that makes every visit feel like a break from everything. If you're anywhere in Cambridgeshire—or even staying in London and willing to take a scenic drive—The Crown Inn is absolutely worth it. Whether you're gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or just looking for genuinely warm hospitality and great food, Mark and the team will take care of you like family. It’s a place we’ll always miss.”

  “** celiac approved ** Had such a lovely meal at The crown Inn. The food was amazing from start to finish! I had the pork belly starter followed by the salmon and cod pie, both were absolutely beautiful but the tiramisu… wow! Honestly I’d happily drive an hour and a half again just for that dessert alone. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t have been more helpful, especially with allergies. The lady I went with has coeliac disease and we were all so impressed that pretty much everything on the menu was either gluten free or could be adapted. She said it was the first time in a long while she’s been able to go out for a meal and not feel left out, which meant a lot. A special mention to Mark the owner as well, so friendly and welcoming and really made us feel looked after. Amazing food, wonderful service and such a lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!”

  “We were visiting my friend husband business in the area and we weren’t sure where to eat. We found this lovely restaurant/pub nearby. All I can say is wow, we had a wonderful experience.   “Yesterday we had a lovely dinner at The Crown Inn and enjoyed atmosphere, food and most of all very pleasant staff! It is perfect! First we visited the Church opposite the Inn.
