About The Snooty Tavern
The Snooty Tavern is a pub in St Neots, at 12 The Grn, that hosts live music and musical bingo nights, so there is something to do beyond the drinks list. The kitchen makes its food in house, and the Sunday roast comes with turkey or beef as the mains, with live music playing during the meal. Fish and chips can be ordered with scampi as an extra, and salt and pepper prawns are on offer as a starter. A range of beers is on tap at the bar. A private dining room is set aside for groups, tables can be reserved through a booking system, and dogs are welcome. A car park at the back serves drivers, with street parking nearby when it is full.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the food, and the Sunday roast comes up first: turkey and beef with crispy roast potatoes, well-seasoned gravy and a range of vegetables one diner called outstanding, including broccoli in a creamed leek sauce. Close behind are the fish and chips with thick cut chips and home-made tartar sauce, plus seafood such as salt and pepper prawns, scampi, and a lobster salad with oysters. Desserts like an Eton mess style pudding and a strawberry and ginger crumble earn praise, as do the cocktails. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and helpful, and several mention live music alongside lunch. The caveats are specific. One reviewer waited over an hour for a main and received a ham, egg and chips with five small lukewarm chips, one overcooked egg and half a slice of ham, with several pensioner offer choices unavailable. Another found loud musical bingo started in the dining area, slowing service, with no warning from the reservation system. One diner told staff the carrot and sweet chilli soup was extremely hot, and it was dealt with.

“The Snooty Tavern is a really nice village pub, and it's just around the corner from my friends', so we often pop in. The staff are really friendly, professional, and thoughtful. The food is top-notch, as is the plonk. It has a really good dining are that opens up onto the pub garden, which itself has tables and seating, with parasols. Do yourself a favour and give it a go.”

“Went today with friends, very poor indeed. Pensioner offer was awful, a number of choices unavailable on an already small menu. Over an hour to get main course to table. Ham egg and chips was a joke, 5 small luke warm chips, 1 overcooked egg and a half slice of ham.... I know portions are smaller but this was rediculous. I worked in pubs, restaurants and branded food operations for 30 years so my expectations were not excessive , it was just not great and you lost 4 customers today. We have been before when it was OK.”

“An excellent little pub on the old A45 in Great Staughton. We visited for lunch and had the 3 courses over 50s deal which cost £15 or a two course lunch costs £12. The 3 courses we had were excellent although the soup of the day was carrot and sweet chilli which was extremely hot, in fact so much we told the staff in case someone much older really struggled so that was taken care of... Our mains were the roast turkey, all beautifully cooked and thoroughly enjoyed. Good value for money too. My desert was the strawberry and ginger crumble with custard and that was beautiful too..... We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and staff were so nice too. Visited 24th of April 2026”
