About Brasa Restaurant

Brasa Restaurant is a Portuguese restaurant in Hull at 153 Newland Ave, built around a charcoal grill that handles both seafood and meat. The menu includes Espetada Terra, which also appears as Espetada Terra & Mar, and grilled sea bream served with garlic potatoes. Feijoada Day brings the bean stew to the table with a bean vinaigrette alongside. Vegan versions of a dish can be prepared on request, and the staff explain the menu to each table. A karaoke night gives the dining room a sing-along evening beyond the grill menu. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the grilled meat skewers, with the Espetada Terra and the Espetada Terra & Mar both praised as cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Close behind are the ribeye steak, the Costeleta de Borrego, and grilled fish served with garlic potatoes, while one diner describes prawns in a rich garlicky sauce for mopping up with warm bread. Others mention a loaded sandwich topped with a fried egg and chips that proved too big to finish, and a Feijoada Day where a Brazilian diner enjoyed the bean vinaigrette. Vegan diners say the kitchen prepared a vegan version of Portuguese street food on request. Service is described as friendly, welcoming and attentive, and several call the atmosphere relaxed, with one enjoying a karaoke night. No recurring complaint appears. A few reviewers say the food reminded them of Portugal or Brazil, and one family celebrating a special occasion had the menu explained to them without any rush.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic food, service and value for money! We had a fantastic meal at Brasa Restaurant. The ribeye steak and the Espetada Terra were both absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. You really couldn't fault either dish! The service was excellent from start to finish, with friendly, attentive staff who made the whole experience even better. What really surprised us was the value for money. Just £63 for both meals, a large glass of wine and a beer is incredibly competitive for the quality of food and service you receive. It's great to find somewhere that delivers such high-quality food without charging a fortune. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend Brasa to anyone looking for delicious food, brilliant service and fantastic value for money. We'll definitely be back!”

“Having never been to Brazil or tried any of there food I was quite excited to see what they had to offer..I went for “ the sandwich “ it was nothing like I expected, it was indeed a sandwich, full of traditional sausage, ham, I think beef ? Cheese, lots of cheese & then covered in what I can only describe as a “ gravy “ then smothered in chips and a fried egg…there was a lot going on that’s for sure…I managed to eat about 80% of it, I was hungry when I went in and I so t think I will now eat all weekend 😂.. I would like to go back again and try the stake, or the cod. My partner had the sea bream and garlic potatoes, looked lovely & she said it was very nice & our friend had the pork tomahawk. All3 dishies were very filling, full of flavour and nice and hot, staff were polite, well dressed & the whole place was very clean.”
