Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the sharing platters, with the generous portions, tender meat, and several kinds of pilau drawing repeated praise. Close behind are the huge naan, which one reviewer had to take home to finish, and the chicken karahi. The dumplings are called a highlight by one reviewer, who also praised the creamy desserts. Several mention the complimentary soup at the start and the tea at the end, and some describe staff who helped with vegetarian and dietary needs. One Afghan reviewer says the food tasted like home cooking. The main complaint comes from one reviewer who was recommended the lamb karahi and found only a few small pieces of lamb in a watery, sour, undercooked tomato curry. The dish was returned and brought back cooked longer, but the sour taste remained. Others describe the non-alcoholic strawberry mojito and a meal that fed two, ending with a pot of tea and leftovers to carry home.

“Our first time in an Afghan restaurant. We chose a sharing platter for two. Fantastic flavours and a generous serving! There’s a complimentary soup starter which was also delicious. The meat was tender, the rice perfectly cooked. We will be going back to try other dishes on the menu.”

“Yesterday, I went to this restaurant and ordered the Lamb Karahi because I asked the staff what their best dish was, and they recommended it. It cost £12.50. When the Lamb Karahi arrived, I was really disappointed. There were only about five or six small pieces of lamb in the whole dish. The amount of meat was nowhere near what you would expect. On top of that, there were far too many tomatoes, and they weren’t even properly cooked. The tomatoes had released so much water that the curry was watery, and it tasted extremely sour.I sent it back and explained the problem. They brought back the same dish after cooking it a bit longer to reduce the water, but the sour taste was still exactly the same. Nothing had really improved. It was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I had driven 35 miles just to eat there because I was really looking forward to it. I was genuinely excited, but the food completely ruined my mood. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone based on my experience.”

“We visited tonight after seeing the place online. Living out of town there are lots of places to pick from but the food looked amazing and it certainly did not disappoint. The food was sooo good and the portion sizes were great. The photo which you can see cost about £28 and fed two of us. Also the complimentary soup to start was a nice touch. The service was also excellent and very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend Afghan Cuisine and we will be back with the family next time.”

“I've tried so many Afghan places in Manchester and elsewhere, this is up there as THE best, the meat and chicken are so so fresh I wonder if they have a farm feeding the kitchen directly.. and the salad and veg was also really tasty.”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Afghan cuisine! This was actually my second time coming here, and it was just as incredible as the first — if not better. The food is full of flavor and clearly made with care. The dumplings were the highlight — tender, perfectly cooked, and topped with a rich, delicious sauce. They’re absolutely worth waiting for when they become available. The desserts were also fantastic, creamy and beautifully presented. Paired with the tea, it was the perfect way to finish the meal. Everything about the experience was wonderful, and it’s clear why I came back a second time. I’ll definitely be coming again!”
