Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often praise the beer and cider range, with craft ales, real ales, mainstream lagers, Guinness and alcohol free options all mentioned, plus small tasters and descriptions on the boards that helped with choosing. Close behind is the pan Asian street food, which several call great value and tasty, and one singles out the well presented halloumi, though that reviewer would like warm honey with it. The games room at the back and the outdoor seating also get mentions, and staff are described as helpful and friendly, though one notes slow bar service. Food draws the sharper complaints. One burger order was called perfectly acceptable but nothing special, and loaded fries with poor chicken were called overpriced. The most detailed complaint describes bao buns arriving cold after a long wait, then a replacement that was lukewarm and one bun short, with a further wait for the last bun and a refund or replacement offered but no compensation.

“Atmosphere was pleasant, wasn't overly crowded or noisy. The selection of ciders and beers available is quite impressive, albeit the bar service was a little slow. We tried the food. Both wife and I had a burger. Perfectly acceptable but nothing to write home about. Given the surroundings (lots of eateries), I probably wouldn't visit for food in the future.”

“Only went in for a quick drink, read the menu & ppl watched, we left went into mineral another good pub, I was hungry & liked what i saw on the taphouse menu so decided to go back there, OMG food was so nice, well presented, beautifully cooked, only 1 thing I would ask management to change or give a choice is to have warm honey with the hallumi, but wouod defo return”

“Very disappointing experience. Went in around 5pm, it wasn't very busy. Ordered 6 bao buns, they took around 45 minutes if not longer to arrive. And when they did arrive they were cold. Our party complained and asked for a replacement. Said replacement then took around 30 minutes to arrive and it was still tapid temperature wise, but worst of all there was only 5 bao buns, not the 6 we ordered/asked for a replacement! So it then took another 20 mins or so for the final bao bun to arrive. The food seemed tasty when we did get to eventually eat it, but it wasn't warm either time we got it. We were told there was no manager present and whichever senior member of staff we spoke to weren't very apologetic or helpful, they offered us a replacement or a refund and no food. No compensation or anything offered. Won't be returning”
