About Manchester Arms
Manchester Arms is a pub in Hull's Old Town, at 7 Scale Ln, with several other pubs close by. Real ales are served on hand pumps alongside draught beers, lager and cider, and Guinness is on the menu. A selection of bottled drinks rounds out the range. The interior has a throwback style, with framed pictures on the walls and cushioned seating. A recent makeover under new owners included redecorating the back room. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, welcoming staff, with several describing a greeting that feels like visiting old friends, and one bar worker who brought out a toy for a visiting dog. Drinks draw steady praise too: a good range of draught beers and bottled drinks, real ales on hand pumps, and a pint of San Miguel, with a few calling the prices cheap. Several credit the new owners' makeover, noting a decorated back room, a throwback look with Christmas lights, and cushioned seating, and one mentions a lively Friday night with dancing bar staff and good music. The main caveat is the building itself. One reviewer says the modernised interior slightly spoils the old historic pub feel, and another reports that a drain problem makes the toilets smell, though the owner is trying to sort it. Reviewers also place it close to several other pubs, making it handy for a pub crawl, and one reviewer on a quiet Monday still found a warm welcome and good beer.

“The new owner has decorated and changed the back room, looks really nice. There is a problem with the drains so the toilets smell, but he is trying to get it sorted. Good service pleasent staff”

“Had a great time at the Manchester Arms. The recent makeover has really elevated the place, it looks fresh, stylish, and still keeps that classic pub charm. There’s an excellent selection of bottled drinks as well as plenty of draught beers to choose from, so there’s something for everyone. The atmosphere is genuinely warm and welcoming, making it a lovely spot to spend time. A special mention to the bar maid Molly, who was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. A brilliant local that’s clearly been done up with care, highly recommend. 🍺✨”
