About Harry Pursey
Harry Pursey is a pub at 386 Beverley Rd in Hull, set in a former Wetherspoons building with barrels and brickwork behind the bar. A single large bar anchors the room, and the draught selection covers a wide variety of beers, lagers and ciders. Plenty of televisions show different sports, with football on large screens, and the pub carries Sky, TNT and pay per view boxing for match nights. A club night brings live entertainment bingo, open the box and raffles. The Funday sessions, hosted by the pub's own team, add karaoke, stand up bingo and play your cards right. Dates for live entertainment are listed on the pub's Facebook page. A pool table and two dart boards give regulars something to play between rounds.

Customer Review Summary
Cheap beer is the draw most reviewers raise, with one calling the draught the cheapest they have found anywhere and another noting a wide choice of beers, lager and cider. Sport comes close behind: large screen televisions show football and other sports, and reviewers mention watching a City match and a semi final here with a good atmosphere. A pool table and dart board get a mention too, along with a band described as spot on and some lovely gin cocktails. Staff draw mixed comments. Several call them friendly and welcoming, while one visitor found the bar staff professional and efficient but without warmth, and felt the crowd had turned rougher and the feel more sports bar since the pub changed hands. Opinion splits on real ale: one praises well kept beers on hand pump, another regrets there are no hand pulled cask ales. One reviewer recalls the old pictures of Hull on the stairs to the toilets, left over from its Wetherspoons days.

“Because I had to tell a friend off I got band for some thing what wasn't my fault I tried to diesculate the situation when it wasn't me what started there and I got band I just made appreciate the way they had me banned when I wasn't the one who started the problem its unfair when all I wanted was a peiful drink with my wife with a tag along then I just go banned like what did I do I was respectful to the staff I had no intentions of making problems but because of someone tagging along from a place which has carers and I had nothing to do with what he was doing”

“The Harry Pursey is a large pub and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's a sports bar with plenty of televisions showing different sports. There is a wide variety of beers, lager and cider. However, sadly, there are no hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. On the plus side, the beer is very cheap, and there is a pool table and dart board.”
