“We had a brilliant evening at Meson La Pepa. Every dish arrived hot, beautifully cooked and packed with flavour. The meatballs were rich, the prawns were tasty, the patatas bravas was spot on, and even the simple salad tasted incredibly fresh. It was one of those meals where every plate disappeared far too quickly. The atmosphere was just as impressive as the food too. A guitarist playing traditional Spanish music created a warm, relaxed ambience that transported you straight to a little tapas bar in Spain (worth visiting for this alone). The restaurant was absolutely buzzing too, full of people chatting, laughing and clearly enjoying themselves, which only added to the experience. Huddersfield needs more independent places like this. Its so refreshing to find a restaurant that gets the little things right and delivers such an authentic experience without trying too hard. A thoroughly enjoyable evening from start to finish. Can't wait to return.”

“I wasn’t impressed. Maybe they had a bad day in the kitchen but all tapas dishes were flavourless. I ordered the chunky chips which came as small potato wedges and hardly enough to fill the small bowl. I was told the potatoes came in different sizes and mines were made with small ones. Then the chicken wings came and they were tiny. I mean one was no bigger than my little finger and just skin and bone. I was told that’s how they come from the butcher. Whilst I understand that it would have been good if they’d simply put more than the standard 5. When I requested to change them they wanted back the one from my plate which I found very petty. If I was a chef I wouldn’t have let such a pitiful portion of wings leave the kitchen. The prawns in garlic were tasteless. So overall it felt like £50 down the drain. Everything was fresh and the decor is light and pleasant but I did not enjoy my meal. I will not return.”

“Took my mom for lunch yesterday and it was absolutely stunning food, great atmosphere and lovely service and at a fantastic price!!! We had 6 great sized tapas dishes and 2 drinks for just over £32. The food was so fresh and tasty. I’d highly recommend”
