“This is a lovely little café with friendly, down-to-earth staff. They do a nice range of snacks, and it's encouraging to find a hospital which still has an independent café, instead of an outlet belonging to a certain exorbitant global chain which is best left unnamed.”

“Popped in for a coffee after an appointment at the hospital. It's a beautifully set out place, with a room to either side of a central counter. It used to be run by a local charity, but when they pulled out, the lady running it stayed on to keep it open. They do nice coffees (decaf available), fruit teacakes, and freshly made sandwiches including your traditional bacon and/or sausage. Couldn't resist a slice of homemade cake, which I got to take out - tasty and moist, and very reasonably priced. I need to go back again! The shop has reminders of the hospital's history, with commemorative plaques to mark people sponsoring cots in the maternity ward, before the NHS. A little piece of history, and a great spot for a break.”
