Quick info
About Bex's Café
Bex's Café is a coffee shop and breakfast spot on Westbourne Road in Huddersfield, operating on a walk-in basis. The newer location serves only drinks, while food items, including the toasted teacake on the menu, are brought in from the original café across the road. Cakes sit on the counter without prices, so customers ask the staff what each one is. Breakfasts and jacket potatoes with salad are among the items on the food menu. Orders are placed at the counter, and the team serves a mix of drinks and light food through the day.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often describe rude, unwelcoming staff at the newer shop, with no greeting and blank faces, though the original cafe's staff are called nice. Food draws complaints: a freezer burnt teacake, a tuna panini with little tuna, a jacket potato with salad that had gone off, and overdone egg with cardboard bacon. The coffee and cakes are praised, and one visitor enjoyed a hot chocolate.

“Visited today for the second time and was not impressed by the staff, they are so rude and not friendly at all. They just stare at you with blank faces. The cakes don't have prices displayed so you have to ask, and then they give you weird looks for asking, found that really shocking & the staff seemed clueless with 0 customer service from them both. Not a smile or a thank you from the blonde & dark haired girl behind the counter. Put off from coming back here again. My friends thought the exact same. MANAGER IS UNBELIEVABLY RUDE, SO PATRONISING LEARN SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS! HE HAS 0 MANNERS OR ETIQUETTE ON HOW TO TALK.”

“£10 for a breakfast with cheap nasty sausages deep fried to warm them up. Well over done egg. Bacon was like cardboard”

“I thought with the new storie everything was going to be better but NOT! .RUDE staff, not welcoming, not well trained for the service. I ve quit eating there as food is under standards for the price. Last time for breakfast with friends we ended of by leasing everything on the plates. In the original place , the old guy was the only one to prepare good coffee if he was not there, I was not taking it. Lets talk about the ICE TEA: A REAL JOKE! 3 .95 for water and ice, that"s all. I'm just wondering if there is not quality control on what they serve to people. Make a real tea or at least get a better quality instead of selling ice and water. NOT RECOMMENDED.”

“Always thought this place looked nice but when we tried it for the first time the other day we were shocked to find that the staff aren't very welcoming (except the gentlemen behind the counter who was very nice) and charge £9.95 for a plain jacket potato with gone off salad , absolute joke will not be returning here to be robbed again.”
