  “Just had a lovely roast :) everything was perfect. Sometimes the veggie roast options in pubs can be a bit whack but the sweet potato/chestnut roast option was one of the best I've had. Staff all lovely too!”

  “Start with the positives: the food was generally very good. Unfortunately, the lamb we ordered medium arrived well done, but despite that, it was still delicious and was probably the highlight of the meal. However, in the end, the food couldn’t quite save the overall experience. The service was slow and sporadic throughout the evening, and we never seemed to have a consistent member of staff looking after our table. In total, we were served by five different members of staff. There were long waits between being seated, having our drinks order taken, and eventually being asked for our food order. We were also seated close to an outside door, which unfortunately made the experience even less comfortable. What appeared to be regular customers were repeatedly coming in and out, often opening the door and then leaving it open, seemingly without any consideration for the other diners. Staff would periodically notice and close the door, only for the same thing to happen again shortly afterwards. It was particularly frustrating as the staff clearly recognised the issue, but there didn't seem to be any attempt to address the behaviour of the people repeatedly leaving the door open. Overall, while the food was good, the slow and inconsistent service and the uncomfortable seating situation significantly affected our experience. There is clearly potential here, but unfortunately the overall service needs some improvement.”

  “Today I had the most gorgeous meal at the Cowper Arms in Letty Green, the roasts were absolutely amazing. The team mentioned there is a new head chef and the food really reflects it well! I was served by Becca and Trudi who were so welcoming. I’ll definitely be back!!”

  “Stopped in for a drink after a Sunday afternoon walk in the area. Didn't have any food but a refreshing couple of soft drinks. It was nice enough to sit outside, so will want to return at some point to try the food and the indoor restaurant area, as it looked cozy and welcoming.”

  “Food is always well prepared and service is always good, Natalia was really lovely and very efficient tonight. As we're on the email we had a birthday code for tonight which meant we only paid for one of us which is a nice treat. Would be nice if menu had a little more variety x”

  “Beautiful pub in a fantastic location I've only stopped by a few times on rides or passing with friends. Wonderful outdoor area and friendly staff. Very nice interior and food always looks exceptional. Although *BEWARE* there's a magpie crime ring stealing chips in the area”

  “We had the most wonderful Mother’s Day at The Cowper Arms yesterday! We arrived just after 12pm and met up in the bar area waiting for our whole party to arrive, it had a lovely ambiance with the fire burning and beautiful country pub decor. We went in to the restaurant area slightly earlier than our reservation at 12.30 but that was no problem to the lovely & helpful staff. We were seated quickly & drinks were ordered. We chose to upgrade our set menu for just £10 more per person it added a glass of Prosecco, as side and supplement price included!! We thought this was a great deal and we re impressed with the price we paid! Especially since the food was gorgeous! I had satay skewers to start a massive trio roast for main with a side of cauliflower cheese and rhubarb and apple crumble for desert! It was all really delicious & a great quantity! Throughout the meal the staff were fantastic & couldn’t do enough for us even though they were so so busy! We appreciate their hard work extremely & they made our Mother’s Day such a joy! We had never been to this pub and had booked it completely by chance, but we will definitely be back! Thank you xxx”

  “Not very good especially considering the high prices (we expected good quality) We went here as have read good things but felt seriously underwhelmed, my partners meat was average at best and the size left him still hungry and my halloumi (two pieces and harvester give you FIVE for £5 less!) was so salty it was barely edible. Service was not really existent. I’ve had better meals at Weatherspoons for 1/3 of the price. The pub is cosy but we will not be back. We went to the Five horseshoes down the road today and it was so much better. Lovely food, gorgeous dessert, great service and less pricey. Already talking about going there again next week. Oh and an extra £6 for two scallops and £17 for a supermarket Camembert that costs £4 in Tesco. They should be embarrassed charging high end prices at below average quality”

  “We enjoyed our lunch today as the food was excellent. Service was very good and efficient, all done within an hour. A shout out to our waiter Joe who was very attentive and polite.”
