About Angie's
Angie's is a small cafe in Hereford at 25 St John's Pl, tucked away behind the bookshops. Owner Angie cooks the food fresh to order and chats with customers while she works. The full "mansize" workers breakfast is the main plate for the morning, and the Chicken Sandwich sits alongside freshly made sandwiches and salads for lunch. Cakes by the slice come with mugs of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. The cafe is open Monday to Saturday for daytime hours only and closed on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is what most reviewers return to, from the "proper workers breakfast" and a mansize breakfast to bacon and sausage baps and breakfast rolls, all described as brilliant or lovely and good value. Close behind is the welcome: reviewers repeatedly describe friendly staff and an owner who chats, passes on local knowledge and suggests places to visit, with one reviewer who is not chatty ending up talking the whole time. Also named are a jacket potato one diner calls the best they have eaten, freshly made sandwiches and salads, cake, hot chocolate, and a properly brewed hot cup of tea. The one recurring caveat is size, with a couple of reviewers noting the cafe is small. Reviewers also describe it as tucked away behind the bookshops, and one visitor says they stopped in after a Saturday morning Parkrun and left too full to need another meal that day.

“I have never been made to feel so welcome as i did at Angies. Angie is a lovely lady who took time out of her busy schedule to chat, pass on local knowledge and give tips to where we should visit. The food is fabulous and cooked fresh to order and it was so nice to have a propper hot cup of tea. This for me (and my family) is the shining star of Hay and I would recommend popping in for a breakfast or cake and a tea if ever passing through. Thank you Angie, for making our stay in Hay a very welcoming and pleasurable one”

“Little modest countryside-vibes cafe and so, so friendly! Had my first breakfast at Hay, here. I'm not super chatty but somehow ended up talking the whole time and how nice it was! Very welcoming. Also, good for early birds! Give it a go of you want to make friends with the locals.”
