Customer Review Summary

Charcuterie boards and evenings draw the most praise, with reviewers describing loads of meat, a great selection and chutney that one says was to die for, with plenty for two adults and two children to share. Fish and chips, takeaway included, are called excellent by a visiting grandparent. Others mention a huge three egg omelette with salad and coleslaw, and a fantastic breakfast with good quality ingredients. Reviewers describe friendly, attentive staff, a quiet atmosphere where friends can chat without shouting over music, and a view of the church and hills. One notes vegan and gluten-free options are available but must be requested first. The complaints are specific. One reviewer waited ages for coffee and had to remind staff, then found the hash brown cold and soggy, the bacon fatty and the sauces in plastic sachets. Another calls the food good but the coffee not so good. One family says the owner gave them full run of the cafe for a birthday afternoon.

“We visited The Cafe Bar for the first time this week while visiting our grandchildren - loved it! The fish and chips we had were excellent, the best we have eaten for ages. The staff were friendly and helpful, the layout is lovely, the toilets are clean. We can’t understand why there isn’t a long queue out of the door waiting for seating! We went back again today and discovered the do take away fish and chips too. If only you were easy driving distance from Oxfordshire, we’d be having fish and chips every week! Totally recommend dropping in if you are in the area, the menu is very good. See you again next month! And thank you for finding and keeping our grandson’s water bottle.”

“⭐️ Highly recommend Café Bar! ⭐️ We tried one of the new charcuterie boards last night, and wow... it was absolutely gorgeous! There was loads of meat, a great selection to pick at, and the chutney was honestly to die for. There were 2 adults and 2 children sharing ours, and there was still plenty for us all, so it's definitely good value. The staff were really attentive without being over the top, and the newly decorated interior gives the place such a warm, cosy feel. If you're after somewhere for a nice, relaxing Saturday evening where you can actually sit and chat with friends without having to shout over loud music, then Café Bar is perfect. It's also ideal if you just fancy a quiet drink in a lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! ❤️”
