Customer Review Summary
The full English is the draw reviewers raise most, with sausage, bacon, egg, spam, tomato, mushrooms and beans, freshly prepared and served with toast and tea or coffee. Close behind are the home cooked plates: egg and chips, a hot beef and onion sandwich with gravy and chips, homemade steak pie and chips, and stew or casserole style meals. Reviewers repeatedly describe a traditional, unpretentious, old school café that feels like a time capsule, with generous portions, good value and quick, friendly service. Several are long-standing regulars, one going back fifty years, and the café is described as popular with locals and sometimes very busy. One reviewer gives a middling verdict and treats it mainly as a nostalgic trip back to the 1980s, and another says sadly that it closes quite early. Food arrives piping hot, and the toast comes buttered.

“Great traditional café, which apparently dates back to the early 60s. It's like a time capsule & a step back in time inside. It's clearly popular with locals, a good sign. The service is friendly & fast. The food is the standard, hearty café fare. We had the Full English, which was nicely cooked & had sausage, bacon, egg, spam, tomato, mushrooms & beans. It came with 2 slices of toast & tea/coffee, all for £8.50. Great value!!”
