About Emilys Eatery
Emilys Eatery is a cafe on Halifax Rd in Bradford that welcomes dogs, with water and doggy sausages as a treat for them. A Pay it Forward board sits on the wall, and wall plaques to read, plants and kitchen-style decor fill the room. Breakfast is on the menu, including a small vegetarian breakfast, alongside daily specials that are freshly prepared. The kitchen also makes a Spam & egg sandwich and serves hand-cut chips made from potatoes. For something sweet, the cafe bakes its own scones, and the menu adds waffles, cakes and afternoon teas. The cafe also caters private functions, which gives groups a place to gather.

Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is the main draw, with reviewers calling it cooked to perfection, praising the small vegetarian breakfast, and several returning within days. Hand cut chips earn their own praise, and one reviewer says to come just for them. Staff come up repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, and a few say they seem happy to be there. Others mention big portions arriving hot and quickly, and the Pay it Forward board. The criticism comes from three lower reviews, mostly about breakfast quality for the price. Diners describe thin, cheap sausages, one called frozen, plates that were cold or lukewarm, hard overcooked fried eggs, a tasteless toastie, and a Spam and egg sandwich that tasted ordinary. One of them noted the cafe was empty, so expected hot food. Dogs are welcomed with doggy sausages, and one parent describes staff helping their children choose a meal, then bringing a homemade scone and a special salad.

“Took my two children and the staff helped them to choose their meal then presented us with a great homemade scone and special salad for one of the kids.”

“Called in today after passing this place quite a few times. Spam & Egg was £5:70. Thought this was expensive for what was an ordinary tasting sandwich. Disappointed. Won't be going back & definitely wouldn't recommend.”

“Unfortunately today we were very disappointed with our food. The breakfast was nearly £10 and you didn’t get much. At that price I expected traditional sausage not frozen cheap sausage tgat were cold. Fried eggs were over cooked and hard. My son’s toastie was tasteless and lack of salad for the price. I’m sorry I hate giving bad reviews but honestly it wasn’t great and I work in a cafe. We were the only ones in so you had time to make sure our food was hot.”

“Not been here in quite a while and must say I was really dissappointed with my breakfast, the sausages were really thin and cheap and the whole meal was only luke warm. For the price I would have expected better quality sausages ( so many local produce nearby) and for my meal to be warm. The girl serving was nice enogh but I"m afraid other than that not great value for money at all”

“Talk about a hidden gem! We were feeling hungry while out and about and Googled dog friendly cafes near us. Emily’s Eatery popped up and we decided to listen to the reviews. We are so glad that we did! It really made our day. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially to our dog Frank (which is a big deal to us). They brought him some sausage to munch on. The food arrived quickly - it was hot and extremely tasty. Lovely big portions at great prices.. I had to take some home as I was stuffed! We loved the decor and feel of the cafe, especially the ‘Pay it Forward’ board. Such a wonderful idea for any families that may be struggling. We left with a very warm feeling and will definitely be back for another visit soon.”
