Customer Review Summary

Reviewers center on the service, with several praising a server who checked in all evening and moved one party to a quieter spot when the pub got busy and loud. One diner also loved the food and the whole experience. The one detailed complaint describes a forgotten order of drinks and desserts, then a supervisor telling the family they were lying.

“A few days ago, my family and I visited your establishment for lunch. Unfortunately, what started as an enjoyable visit was let down by the service we received towards the end of our meal. After we had finished our food, the supervisor, who I believe was called Rhi, cleared our plates. We then asked if we could order some additional drinks and desserts, to which she said yes before walking away, presumably to put the order through. After waiting approximately 15 minutes and receiving no further service, I went to the bar myself. A member of staff there was extremely polite and helpful, and after I explained the situation, she checked and informed me that our order had not actually been put through. From my perspective, it appeared that our request had simply been forgotten. What happened next was particularly disappointing. The supervisor returned while our drinks were being prepared, and the barmaid asked her what had happened, presumably to establish whether there had been a simple misunderstanding or mistake. The supervisor then stated that we were lying about what had happened. This was said within our hearing, and I found the comment extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I completely understand that mistakes can happen in a busy restaurant, and I would have been more than willing to accept this as a simple oversight. However, being accused of lying when we had done nothing wrong was unacceptable and left a very negative impression of our visit. I am extremely disappointed with the way the situation was handled and, unfortunately, I will not be returning in the foreseeable future. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as customers should not be made to feel that they are being dishonest when raising a genuine concern.”
