Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the setting, a garden and outdoor seating on the bank of the River Severn that several call lovely or beautiful. Close behind is the cask ale, with the Real Ale described as very well kept and Butcombe Best Bitter and Timothy Taylor Landlord named on one visit. The food earns praise for down to earth, well cooked favourites at reasonable prices, and the Sunday lunches, specials, winter warmers and pie night come up from reviewers who have eaten there. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, and dogs are welcome in the bar. The one real complaint comes from a visit where the battered fish was very over cooked, though the chips were good, and many menu items were missing with nothing indicating what was available. One regular suggests booking for Sunday lunch and being patient when the small kitchen is busy, and another found the tables fully booked for dining.

“A great location with impressive views of the River Severn. The menu is a good down to earth selection of all my favourite meals. Very well cooked and prepared and not messed with, served by a very efficient and friendly staff. Have now been here a few times when in the area and will definitely be returning.”

“Fantastic pub, overlooking a gorgeous part of the river servern. We'll worth a visit or overnight stop in your camper van”

“Lovely pub , great spot by the water, sadly the food wasnt the best on this visit, battered fish was very over cooked , chips was good though :) lot of items missing off the menu so wasnt much to choose from (maybe due to the restricted menu because of the heat ,but no indicators to what was available on the menu given) Nice atmosphere though, staff very polite and friendly. Will return and try something different :)”

“Not many pubs with views like this, food is good, beer is too, staff are friendly, nothing to say bad about the place. The pictures of the view say everything.”
