About Fromebridge Mill
Fromebridge Mill is a pub on Fromebridge Lane in Gloucester, set beside a river with a nature park and waterfall nearby. Campers and camper vans can stay overnight in the pub car park in return for a charity donation, which gives touring visitors a place to park up for the night. Carvery is the recurring dish, with a midweek carvery and a Sunday carvery served from a counter with roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, gravy and veg. Steaks and burgers also feature on the menu. Orders and check-in are handled at the bar. A private dining room serves groups, and the pub holds a quiz night. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
The carvery is what most reviewers come for, and several call it fantastic, praising the perfectly cooked roast potatoes, soft Yorkshire puddings, gravy and generous portions. Camper van and motorhome travellers describe friendly bar staff, good beer and a warm welcome, and one group praised the function room for a baby shower. The complaints centre on the carvery under pressure. One diner found the roast potatoes and parsnips hard and the Yorkshire puddings stone cold, with one person serving a bar queue for both check in and ordering. Another had to ask for veg and sauces to be refilled, and found the Eton mess sour and the coffee machine broken. One arrived at dinner to the dried up end of a turkey with no other meat. Yet when the veg sold out one evening, the bar staff arranged two small carveries for a couple who had set their hearts on one.

“We came to the Fromebridge Mill on Tuesday after our long drive, they were extremely accommodating and helpful when being asked about the caravan parking. Me and my husband both had the carvery and it was fantastic, the gravy was perfect, the roasties were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the yorkshire's were soft. I was once a waitress when I was younger and is lovely to see the staff working so hard. We caught up with Erin who was a delight to speak with, she was quick with questions we had. I appreciate this pub, the staff and the atmosphere greatly, and we will definitely be returning during any visits in the future.”

“We visited the pub for the 3rd time this year while touring , the bar staff were super friendly and John and his team went above and beyond to get us seated . The roast was amazing and great service from Ruth who served us our best evening meal of our tour. I don’t think it’s even possible to find a better pub stop over for us. Location, food , beer and staff 5 out of 5”

“Stayed over night in our camper van and went to the pub for a carvery we decided to have a drink first and when my husband went to the bar to buy 2 carvery’s we were told they were stopping it as had sold out of most of the veg. He explained that I really wanted a carvery so the bar staff kindly spoke to a lady called Ruth who agreed to sell us 2 small carvery’s which were delicious.Ruth was very friendly and accommodating and saved the day Thankyou will be back as it’s a fantastic pub”

“Could not fault anything about our first visit. The carvery was absolutely fantastic, with generous portions that offered great value. Every member of the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was served with a smile. A special thanks to the barman for being so great. We will definitely be returning.”

“This is a lovely pub, set in a stunning location, we called for the midweek Carvery which was good value BUT: upon arrival we queued at the bar to check in, only one guy serving ! Having reached the front of the queue the guy took our details and left the bar to check us in on the front desk computer, he then took us to our table (which needed cleaning) so he got cleaning products, cleaned and laid the table before going back to the bar to serve the next customer ! We then had to go back to the back of the now 14 deep queue to order our meals !! The carvery it's self was good lovely meat & fresh veg, but the roast potatoes and parsnips were very hard and Yorkshire puddings stone cold, we had a nice window table with a lovely view over the river, but the widows were filthy and overhead in the dining area large cobwebs hung from the pipes and beams ! The place needs a really good clean ! So very mixed feelings about this place”
