About Berkeley Arms
Berkeley Arms is a country pub and bar in Berkeley, on Purton, with views across the Severn estuary. It sits near the walk to the Purton Ships Graveyard, so the estuary outlook is part of the setting for anyone heading out on foot. The kitchen runs a brunch service with a cafe feel, followed by an evening bistro offering. Food requires booking, so the dining side works on reserved tables. The interior has been recently refurbished.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the views over the Severn estuary, praising the garden and outdoor seating where drinks are enjoyed. Close behind is the food, with paninis served with loads of crisps and salad, a three-course meal with generous portions, and a good breakfast and coffee. Friendly, welcoming staff come up repeatedly, and several mention the beautiful refurbished interior, with one returning after decades to find it transformed. Prices are called very good value and competitively priced. Walkers heading to the Purton boat graveyards and canal stop in, and families and dog owners describe a warm reception, including a bowl of water for a dog. The one drawback comes from a reviewer who could not comment on the food because tables need to be booked in advance. Another reviewer mentions that staff let them leave a car in the car park and gave directions to the nearby attraction.

“Beautiful location, lovely friendly staff, great selection of drinks. Food was delicious and fresh, service was very prompt and pleasant. We had 3 courses!! All were really delicious and portions are generous, we were just very hungry! Sat outside another day for a drink and enjoyed the beautiful views over the Severn estuary. Spotlessly clean”

“Popped in for lunch as we were wanting to visit the Ships Graveyard nearby. We had paninis and they were excellent with loads of crisps and salad. We asked if we could leave our car in the car park and asked for directions to the attraction. Alfie was most helpful on both counts. The prices are very good and great value - we will definitely go for an evening meal.”

“Called around 10.30 on Thursday 10/9/2026. First thing I noticed when I entered was a large welcome sign. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good, the coffee was good. Nice pub, I will definitely be returning.”
