Quick info
About Partick Duck Club
Partick Duck Club is a comfort-food restaurant with a full bar at 27 Hyndland St in Glasgow, run as a chef-driven kitchen. Duck runs through the menu, led by a 12-hour duck leg and a BBQ shredded duck leg served with a beef dripping hash brown, a runny egg and hollandaise. Beyond the duck dishes, the kitchen spreads Black Bomber cheese on fried sourdough with hot honey. The bar sits alongside the dining room, so drinks are part of the same visit. Seating is mostly booths, with some tables and a bar counter where guests can eat. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays.

Customer Review Summary
The duck leg draws the most praise, from the 12-hour signature leg to the BBQ shredded duck leg with a beef dripping hash brown, runny egg and hollandaise. Close behind, reviewers single out the Texan chicken schnitzel, the Black Bomber cheese spread with hot honey on fried sourdough, and the Brie tart starter. Desserts also earn mentions, including a sticky toffee soufflé and a deep fried cinnamon roll with ice cream. Diners describe friendly, efficient staff, pleasant outdoor seating in sunny weather, and very cold beer from frozen glasses. The complaints are about richness, portions and space. One reviewer found the burger with black pudding spread too rich, with a runny topping that made the bun soggy, and called two fries heavy. Another said the cowboy beans with the schnitzel were more garnish than side, so a portion of fries followed. One finds the menu limited, and another found the booths too cramped on a warm June evening, when the waitress turned on the fans.

“Excellent food! The duck leg was mouth watering, I ordered two more salads and 2 beers that’s why we paid a bit more! The beer is amazing, they freeze the glasses so your beer is so cold and refreshing. The owner Ross is welcoming and accommodating our orders and nearly made a special starter for us as we didn’t want the full size of the main. Sitting outside is great in a good weather. If you sit indoor in the booth is very relaxing as well. Will definitely recommend. A must try!”

“High quality food presented in a beautiful manner. Five of us dined, sitting in a very comfortable booth and did not notice any noise from other diners. Our food ranged from an assortment of dishes from duck to fish to chicken to a duck bun and all were excellent.”

“Brilliant cooking, lovely service. Most of the party had the signature 12-hour duck leg which I concede is excellent. One person had a chicken schnitzel which was dazzlingly good. We all had the chip which I do recommend. I was too full for dessert but some people managed the combination of sticky toffee soufflé, sticky toffee sauce, and vanilla ice cream which was was handsome and sweet. The deep fried cinnamon roll with excellent ice cream did not disappoint and was quite substantial. The only negative is the seating. Most of the seating is booths and just much too cramped. It was mid June and a warm evening. I found it too warm, but the very nice waitress turned on the fans.”

“Excellent time at the Duck Club. Back in after a long time away … very friendly staff and lovely to sit outside (it was sunny for once!) and watch the world go by. Starters were phenomenal. The Brie tart superb. Duck outstanding, as you’d expect! Highly recommended.”

“Three words: hot honey cheese. I'll get to the rest of the menu in a moment, but we need to talk about the Black Bomber cheese spread with hot honey on fried sourdough first. Because nothing else I ate that day, nothing else I've eaten this year, lands with quite that quiet devastation. Black Bomber is already a sharp, aggressive Welsh cheddar. Whipped into a custardly spread it becomes silkier, more dangerous. Then drizzle hot honey over it. The heat blooms slowly after the sweetness hits! The fried sourdough underneath has just enough crunch and sweetness to carry the whole thing without getting in the way. It is stupidly simple. It is stupidly good. It cost almost nothing but flavour my days fully. The No.2 Philly cheesesteak earns its place. 24-hour slow-cooked chuck steak with that same Black Bomber spread doing double duty, BBQ sauce and pickled onions cutting through the richness exactly when you need them to. The BBQ shredded duck leg is what the name promises: properly rendered, cabbage bringing heat, hollandaise bringing excess, beef dripping hash brown bringing absolutely no apologies. And the full breakfast? McCaskie's streaky bacon, pork square slice, black pudding, hot sauce fried tomato, every component a deliberate choice from someone who actually cares where the breakfast came from. Partick Duck Club is doing the most with the least fuss. Glasgow continues to win.”
