Customer Review Summary
The fish supper is the main draw, with reviewers describing fish and chips that are crispy, fresh and hot, and made to order. The gravy and curry sauce come up close behind, and one reviewer singles out the curry sauce and scraps. Staff and owners are repeatedly called friendly and welcoming, with plenty of chat and banter, and one longtime customer says the fish supper has been consistently good for many years. A couple of reviewers call the prices fair or good. The main complaint is portion size. One reviewer found a small chips tiny, and called the burger disgusting, saying the meat wasn't beef and the bun was strange. Another also found the small portion small and suggests asking for large. Visitors describe staff patiently working through accent difficulties and pointing them to a nearby picnic table with a view, where they ate their fish and chips.

“My husband and I popped into this little spot to grab a quick meal while on holiday in Scotland. The fish and chips were crispy and so delicious and made to order. As we waited for our food to cook, we shared that we were exploring the area because it was where my husband’s ancestors were from. The friendly staff gave us helpful advice about sites to see, including a nearby picnic table with a beautiful view where we could enjoy our meal. They were extremely patient with us American tourists when it was obvious we were having some difficulty understanding their Scottish accents. If ever we find ourselves back in that corner of Scotland again, we’ll be sure to make another stop at Olivia’s for the friendly service and yummy food!”

“Chips were okay but portion size was tiny. A small portion of chips is £3.50, you’d get a bigger portion from McDonald’s. The burger was absolutely disgusting, the meat definitely wasn’t beef and the bun was like nothing I’d ever seen before. Overpriced, horrible food. Avoid.”

“Olivia’s chip chops has to be one of the best chippy’s that Ive been to so far, the staff and friendly and always up for a chat! They have amazing banter too, just a lovely atmosphere in general. Their curry sauce and scraps is to die for, I love them. Same with the chips! I couldn’t recommend this place enough, good prices too!”

“Went in to pick up a quick snack of chips. Small portion is small, so ask for large! I actually appreciated the fact the chips were for my son and the owner (I think!) done a small chips. Been back and quality is still the same. I can't give the rest of the food a review as it's a snack but great service and not a chip left in the wrapper!”
