About Massimo Restaurant
Massimo Restaurant is an Italian restaurant and bar at 5 Kirk Rd in Bearsden, Glasgow, with dark stripped wood flooring throughout. The large menu covers pizzas, pasta and meat dishes. For pasta, the rigatoni con salsiccia e funghi combines spicy Italian sausage, red peppers and mushrooms in a lightly spiced butter and tomato sauce, which gives sausage lovers a main to choose over the pizza list. Gnocchi and calzone are also on the menu. The bar serves pints alongside the food.

Customer Review Summary
Pasta is the main draw at this Italian restaurant, with reviewers singling out the rigatoni con salsiccia e funghi, the gnocchi, and spaghetti Bolognese, while others name the calzone, the minestrone soup, and prawn and chorizo linguine. Pizza, hot chocolate fudge cake and tiramisu also appear in the praise. Portions are described as huge and filling, prices as reasonable for the quality, and staff as friendly and polite. Several call it very busy and loud, and a few suggest booking, especially at weekends. The complaints are sharper than the praise is common. One diner waited about 20 minutes to have a drinks order taken while younger staff stood chatting, and a table seated later was served first. One reviewer found a chicken and pasta arrabiata boiled and unseasoned, and had to reheat and season it at home. A delivery customer said the arrabiata tasted like grass and that a tub and a half for two felt overpriced. One group celebrating a birthday had food made to order, and a reviewer there noted attentive service that was not overbearing.

“Beautiful food - one of our favourites in Bearsden! Best Calzone around. Minestrone soup is the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back”

“dreadful. bad beyond words. boiled pasta and chicken devoid of any flavour or seasoning whatsoever. seems like the guy (chef? really?) boiled some pasta, threw a tin of chopped tomatoes over it and considered his job done. arrabiata? really? no salt, seasoning or flavours at all. i had to re-cook/ re-heat it all myself, adding some flavour & seasoning. will not be ordering here again.”

“Went here for first time about a month ago, was great. Went last night, again food was great but service was really poor. We waited on our drinks order to be taken after being seated for about 20 minutes with young staff standing looking into the restaurant chatting to each other not doing anything. Grabbed they're attention and just ordered our food and drinks at the same time. Table beside us had order taken before ours with them arriving after us. Place wasn't to busy as it was early. Would return as the food and setting is great but younger staff need to focus on they're jobs a bit better!”

“This is a place where I’ve been going for years & I can say I have never had a bad meal! Plenty of options, so fresh and tasty every time. Staff are always friendly & polite.”

“Just had a delivery. Actually the worst. Pasta aribiata tasted like grass. Don't know why. Obviously couldn't be arsed to cook for the take away people. But took 33 quid for a tub and a half for 2. Have a word.”
