About Obsession of India
Obsession of India is a family-run Indian restaurant in Glasgow, at 25 High St. Diners who are unsure what to order can tell the staff their tastes, and the team will choose dishes for them. The kitchen cooks vegetarian and vegan food and adjusts dishes for dietary requirements. Meat eaters can look to the lamb dishes, including a lamb shank karahi and lamb curries. The owners say they favour quality over quantity, and the cooking is traditional rather than elaborate. Groups also dine here, from work colleagues to a large reunion party.

Customer Review Summary
Tender lamb leads the praise, from the lamb shank karahi with its authentic flavour to well-seasoned lamb curries. The Zeera Masala and butter paneer are also singled out, and the garlic naan is a welcome side. Reviewers repeatedly call the food delicious and good value, and several say the flavours feel more authentic than elsewhere. Staff are described as welcoming, friendly and patient. One vegan diner says the family with them, who were not vegan, were all satisfied, and another notes the kitchen helps with adjustments for dietary requirements. The one sharp complaint concerns delivery: an order arrived with part of it wrong, and the tandoori chicken was pink inside, which that reviewer felt fell short for a restaurant. One reviewer mentions a takeaway discount. Some finish with Desi tea, which a self-described non-tea drinker found lovely, and another table was given complimentary sweet rice.

“Obsession of India is really in a very easy to reach location. The atmosphere is very pleasant. The staff were were incredibly friendly and helpful and the service was great. I'm Vegan but the family who were in Glasgow visiting me was not and everyone was very satisfied with their food. The price was very reasonable too. I certainly intend to come back.”

“This has become my favourite local Indian! Been twice recently, once with a big group for a uni reunion and again with my partner, both times were excellent. Lovely, patient service and excellent food at great value! The dishes and flavours feel a lot more authentic than many other places, will be back asap!”

“Went with work colleagues. Staff were very welcoming and provided great service. Shabaz the head chef made our food. I had the lamb shank karahi, with the meat so tender and authentic flavour. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we were all stuffed. To finish off we had Desi tea. I'm not a tea drinker but this was lovely. Definitely will go again.”

“A real hidden gem in Glasgow and I don’t say that often! Been here a handful of times and truly have no notes. The service is wonderful, they’re accommodating and always so welcoming every time we’ve been. Plus the food here is unreal you can tell they really know their stuff, arguably the best Indian food I’ve had in Scotland (they also have a few itison vouchers that are great value). Definitely recommended checking this place out and supporting such a lovely establishment ❤️”
