Customer Review Summary

The criticism is sharper but less common. One reviewer found the biryani to be turmeric rice with green peas and no aroma. Another said the Kashmiri pulao was plain rice with a few tiny pieces of fruit, that a Deliveroo order took a full hour, and that a phone call brought only "we make it like this." A third found portions small and the samosa overcooked. After the biryani complaint, staff contacted the reviewer within half an hour to apologise and offered chicken curry with naan and white rice.

“We went for dinner at this place. Food portion was too small. Even food was too blend , no taste at all. . No sauces served with portion. Samosa was over cooked. We ordered Curry ,not spicy but something was not right as we were burping through out journey.”

“Just ate at Ashoka in Finnieston for the first time. Everything was delicious. For appetizers we ordered spicy tofu, vegetable samosa, and vegetable pakora. The fried items were crisp and all the dishes were flavourful. The paneer sag was great, with cubes of cheese, my favourite way to have it prepared. The naan was perfection And to end on a further fantastic note, we got the mango and coconut dessert - with ice cream. We loved the texture of the mango layer which reminded us of a not too dense cheesecake. The ginger and coconut notes pulled it together nicely with the ice cream being a good partner flavour.”

“If I could give minus stars, I would. This is, without a doubt, the worst biryani I’ve ever had. It tasted like plain rice covered in turmeric with green peas rather than an authentic biryani. There was no depth of flavour, no aroma, and nothing that resembled a proper biryani. Honestly, this dish should be renamed “Turmeric & Green Peas Rice” instead of biryani because that’s what it tasted like. I genuinely wouldn’t recommend ordering the biryani from here. Very disappointing. 🙏🏻🫡 Update: Within 30 minutes of posting my review, the staff contacted me personally to apologise for my experience. I really appreciate how quickly they responded and the effort they made to make things right. They offered me chicken curry with naan and white rice, and I’d rate that meal 7/10. Their customer service deserves recognition, and I genuinely appreciate how professionally they handled the situation. My only suggestion is to revisit the biryani recipe. While the service was excellent, the biryani didn’t meet my expectations. I hope they improve it because they clearly care about their customers.”

A special mention to the girl serving us, her service was fantastic, so friendly, attentive and made us feel really welcome. Great food, great service, and definitely worth a visit 🌶️✨”
